9. Setting up the drone
The drone battery can be charged using the USB cable provided.
The charging cable is wound up. Before first use, remove the cable tie and fully unwind the charging cable.
a) Charging the drone battery
Connect the USB connector on the charging cable to a USB port on a computer/laptop or a USB charger plug.
Insert the reversible connector on the charging cable to the connection plug on the drone battery.
Wait until the red LED charging indicator on the USB connector lights up, indicating that the rechargeable battery is
fully charged. It takes approximately 40 minutes to charge the battery, which provides 5 minutes of flying time.
Disconnect the drone battery from the charging cable immediately after charging and remove the USB connector on
the charging cable from the computer/laptop or charger plug.
Important!
Do not connect the USB cable to a USB hub without its own power supply (e.g. a USB port on a keyboard), as the
current is not sufficient to charge the battery.
The operating system will not detect any new hardware when the charging cable is connected, as the USB port is only
used to charge the battery. Please note that most USB ports on computers/laptops are only active when the computer/
laptop is switched on.
We therefore recommend that you only connect the charging cable to a computer/laptop that is switched on.
Important!
Only charge the drone battery using the USB charging cable provided. Never attempt to charge the battery with a
different/incompatible charger! Always remove the battery from the drone before charging it. Never charge the battery
when it is still in the drone. Only charge the battery when you are able to monitor the charging process.
b) Inserting the drone battery
The drone will turn on automatically when you insert the battery into the drone. To maximise the flying time, only
perform this step when you are ready to use your drone.
Slide the drone battery into the battery compartment on the bottom of the drone until it slots into place.
The battery connection cables should point backwards.
Insert the reversible battery connector into the plug next to the chassis.
c) Pairing the drone with the remote control
Before inserting the battery into the drone, ensure that the drone and remote control are directly next to
each other. This ensures that the drone can connect to the remote control and respond to remote control
commands.
