For optimum operation, three factors must be met:
• Good ventilation
• Stable and reliable power supply
• Good water circulation (Filter system)
Unlike gas heaters, using a heat pump does not cause any environmental pollution or have any
installation problems when exposed to wind.
4.1. Location of the heat pump
The heat pump must not be installed in an
area with limited air ventilation, or be located
in a bush where the air inlet is blocked. Such
a location would prevent a continuous supply
of fresh air. Fallen leaves can be sucked into
the heat pump and both affect the efficiency
of the heat pump and shorten its lifespan.
Ensure that the pool's circulation pump is
placed significantly lower than the water
line, so as to create a good flow to the heat
pump. The circulation pump should prefera-
bly be at the same level as the bottom of the
pool. Fig. 1 shows the minimum required dis-
tance on each side of the heat pump.
The heat pump must be installed no more
than 7.5 metres from the side of the pool.

4.2. Other instructions

In order to get the best heat exchange from the heat pump, the water flow must meet the recom-
mendations in the specifications.
It may be necessary to enlarge the discharge pipe to prevent freezing during cold seasons.
It is recommended that a bypass kit is installed (Art. 1017) in front of the water inlet and outlet, so
that the flow through the heat pump can be easily interrupted. At the same time it makes general
handling and maintenance easier.
Important:
When the heat pump is in operation, condensate is discharged from the bottom. It must
be possible fr the condensate to run away. Therefore, a drain valve with hose or a drain
pump (accessory) should be fitted if the heat pump is submerged.
