– Fit the two fi xing brackets for the control panel
to the top casing cover, using the screws
provided.
Electrical connections
– The installation should include a switch, a circuit
breaker or other omnipolar disconnect switch
that isolates all power supply lines to the unit.
The maximum power that the components not
supplied with the boiler can draw is:
Burner: 1000 W
Heating pump: 1000 W
Storage tank: 2800 W
– The connection of external appliances not
supplied with the boiler should be done through
approved wiring harness ES–NO5W5-F
– Approved wir ing har ness of the same
characteristics and size (3 x 1.5 mm
be used for connecting to the power supply.
– Before fixing the control panel, make the
electrical connections in accordance with the
diagram.
The cable for the electrical connection between
the burner and the control panel will have been
passed through the grommet fi tted to the left
hand-side casing panel.
The electrical cables for connecting the mains to
the pump and the ambient thermostat, if there
is one, and the control panel will go through the
cable entry (41) on the rear side of the left hand-
side casing panel.
The different cables from the control panel will
come out through the same free hole in the top
casing cover.
– The bulbs for the control thermostat (42), limit
thermostat (43) and the thermometer (44)
are introduced* into the pocket provided for
this purpose in the front section. Fasten the
capillaries with the clip in the sheath.
Screw* the hydrometer sensor (45) into its
sheath, located in the tapping chosen in the
front section. (See "Assembly" operations).
* Through the knock-outs in the top casing cover
which have not been used for passing electrical
cables.
– Fix the control panel using the brackets fi tted
to the top casing cover and the M6 screws
supplied.

Operation

Operations prior to the fi rst lighting
– Check that the installation is full of water and
place the fi xed pointer in the hydrometer or temp./
altitude gauge in the position corresponding to
the static head of the installation.
– Check that the pump operates correctly.
– Bleed the air from the system and radiators.
– In installations with a closed expansion vessel,
top up with water (if necessary) until the mobile
pointer in the hydrometer or combined temp./
altitude gauge is slightly above the fi xed one.
Where an open expansion vessel has been
installed refi ll until the mobile pointer levels off
with the fi xed one.
First lighting with solid fuels

) should
– Check that the smokehood damper is open.
(Handle in position "A").
– Open the ashpit door, lower the front section
grille and put a sufficient amount of small
fi rewood or coal on the grate so as to aid lighting
up. While doing this, keep the charging door and
the observation window closed.
– Turn on the system circulating pump.
– Following the fi rst combustion, put the grille back
in position and close the ashpit door.
– Open the charging door and fi ll the combustion
chamber to an appropriate level with the fuel
you have decided to use. Close the charging
door and check that there are no leaks of fl ue
gases.
– Adjust the automatic temperature regulator
according to the instructions that come with it.
– Bleed and check that all the radiators reach the
required operating temperature in accordance
with that selected on the regulator.
First lighting with fl uid fuels
– Connect the fuel line to the burner.
– Check that the smokehood damper is open.
(Handle in position "A").
– Turn on the main switch for the power supply to
reach the control panel.
– Turn on the-switch (36) to put the system pump
into operation.
– Turn on the switch (37) to put the burner into
operation and check its running against the
instructions that are delivered with it.
– Set the control thermostat (38) to 80 °C
approximately. Check that both the control and
limit thermostats operate correctly.
Where an ambient thermostat has been installed,
set it to the required comfort temperature.
– Bleed and check that all the radiators reach the
required operating temperature in accordance
with that selected on the control thermostat.
– Check that there are no leaks of fl ue gases.
– Check the burner safety devices.

Important recommendations

If the installation in located in a frost-risk area,
some anti-freeze solution should be added to
the water in proportion to the minimum outside
temperature of the place.
The characteristics of the water in the installation
should preferably be:
pH 7,5 ÷ 8,5.
Hardness: 8 ÷ 12 French degrees*.
* One French degree is equivalent to 1 gr of calcium
carbonate contained in 100 litres of water.
If it were essential to add water to the system,
always wait until the boiler has cooled down
completely.
Warning: Characteristics and performance
qualities subject to change without notice.
