Reading out logger data in testo 580
DATA
Switch on testo 580 by pressing DATA button.
Press DATA button again to set up the connection for transfer-
DATA
ring data from the data logger to testo 580.
The following information is shown in the testo 580 display:
Go starts data transfer
Memory Logger and Battery Logger show the memory alloca-
tion and battery capacity of the data logger.
Successful data transfer is indicated by OK .
testo 580 can now be removed from its holder.
If GO and OK are shown during transfer without segments, this
means there are no readings in the data logger.
If flashing segments appear in the Memory Stick field, this is a
sign that the memory capacity in testo 580 is too low.
Reading out saved data on your PC
Connect a RS232 cable (supplied with 0554.1770 interface) to
your PC and testo 580 to read out the data saved in testo
580. Read out using software (see page 17).
Note:
- If data transfer is still activated, it will be stopped.

Stopping the data logger measurement program
DATA
Switch on testo 580 by pressing the DATA button.
Press STOP to end logging in the current measurement pro-
gram.
Successful data transfer is indicated by OK .
Note:
The STOP command is not carried out if
- DATA ERROR is shown.
- the function is blocked in the data logger.
The function can be released or blocked with the data logger
driver software.
Data logger: reprogramming and deleting the memo-
ry
Switch on testo 580 by pressing the DATA button.
DATA
If RESET is activated, the measurement program last used is
set up once again and the memory is deleted. Press Go to
reboot the data logger.
If the measuring program last used was set up with Start by
Date/Time , the data logger takes on the original time and rate
and sets the starting condition at Key start.
Note:
The old measurement protocol in the data logger is delet-
ed. Read out data logger beforehand.
OK appears if the data logger has been successfully pro-
grammed.
Memory occupied in the data logger is at 0% following Reset.
