1.3 Use

• This appliance can be only used by
children at the age of 8 years and
above and persons with reduced phy-
sical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge
if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and under-
stand the hazards involved.
• Children may not be able to play
with the appliance.
• Cleaning and user maintenance
must not be carried out by children
without supervision.
• Attention: Accessible parts of the
appliance can become hot when
used together with cooking appli-
ances.
• The extractor hood has been desig-
ned exclusively for domestic use to
eliminate kitchen smells.
Never use the hood for any purpo-
se other than that for which it is
intended.

• Exhaust air version
The extracted air is emitted out-
doors via the exhaust pipe.
For this purpose your house must
have an exhaust air shaft or an ex-
haust air pipeline leading outdoors.
• Recirculation version
The air flow is filtered through an
activated carbon filter to retain the
odours produced during cooking and
returned to the room.
• If the hood is used in recirculation
version, it is harmless to operate
non-electrical appliances at the
same time.
• For both exhaust air and circulating
air operation, it is recommended
that the appliance is switched on
shortly before cooking and left to
run for 5 to 10 minutes to remove
any remaining vapours and odours
from the room air.
• The grease filter must always be
inserted during operation of the
hood, otherwise grease residues may
accumulate inside the hood and in
the exhaust air system.
• Set the power level according to the
amount of smoke or steam to be
extracted.
