Inserting the Portafi lter into the Device
1. Hold the fi lled portafi lter (10) fi rmly by the handle and insert it into the device under the
symbol.
2. Turn the portafi lter to the right (
Removing the Portafi lter from the Device
1. Hold the portafi lter (10) by the handle and turn it to the left until it is under the
(Picture C).
2. Pull the portafi lter down out of the device.
Emptying the Sieve Insert for Powder and Pads
1. Flip up the small lever on the handle of the portafi lter (e). It stops the sieve insert (c / d)
being able to fall out when it is emptied (Picture D).
2. Tap out the portafi lter over a dustbin.
3. Flip the small lever down again and remove the sieve insert from the portafi lter (see the
"Inserting / Removing the Sieve Insert" section).
4. Clean the sieve insert (see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter).

Emptying the Sieve Insert for Capsules

1. Remove the sieve insert from the portafi lter (see "Inserting / Removing the Sieve Insert").
2. Reach into the recess on the sieve insert for capsules and fl ip open the bottom part.
3. Tap out the sieve insert over a dustbin.
4. Clean the sieve insert (see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter).
Tips
To enjoy an aromatic espresso or coffee, please note the following tips:
•
Always preheat the cups on the hotplate (16).
• Rinse out the cups with hot water immediately before using them.
• Always fi ll the water tank (3) with fresh water. Do not use any water that has been in the
water tank for longer than 12 hours.
• After the device has heated up, fi rst allow hot water to run through the sieve insert (11) and
the portafi lter (10) before you fi ll them with espresso / coffee powder, coffee pads or coffee
capsules.
• Experiment with the amount of espresso / coffee powder to suit your own personal taste. As
a guideline, you can reckon on 7 g of espresso / coffee powder for a normal cup of espresso
or coffee.
