4.1 Mechanical Installation

Encoder damages due to transport or storage
Device failure, malfunction, device lifetime reduction.
• Check the packaging and the encoder for possible damages.
• In the event of visible damages, do not use the encoder and do not
put it into operation.
• Do not install the encoder after falling or being dropped.
• Send damaged encoders back to the manufacturer with a com-
pleted returns form (RMA), see chapter Contact [} 42].
