1 PLAY/CAMERA/OFF switch
PLAY: To see pictures stored in the
camera's memory, or to operate
the mode button.
CAMERA: To take pictures. The
green record lamp lights up.
OFF: Not to use the camera. The
power is turned off.
2 Record lamp (green)
Lit: The PLAY/CAMERA/OFF
switch is set to PLAY or
CAMERA.
Flashing quickly: The remaining
number of shots that can be
stored in the camera's memory is
0.
Flashing slowly: The picture
taken is being stored in memory.
3 Liquid crystal display (LCD)
A picture appears when the DISPLAY
switch is set to ON and the PLAY/
CAMERA/OFF switch is set to PLAY
or CAMERA. When the PLAY/
CAMERA/OFF switch is set to
PLAY, a picture stored in memory
appears, and when the switch is set to
CAMERA, the subject picked up by
the lens appears.
When the camera is connected to a
computer, no picture is displayed
during communication between the
camera and the computer.
When you press MODE of the mode
button, the mode screen appears.

4 Operation display

When the PLAY/CAMERA/OFF
switch is set to PLAY or CAMERA,
the operation mode or setting status
appears.
For details, see "Operation display."
5 Picture resolution mode button
Selects the picture quality. Each time
you press the button, the setting
changes cyclically as follows: Hi →
Hi1 → Hi2 → S.
Hi: High resolution mode (640 ×
480). Up to 30 pictures are
taken.
Hi1: High resolution multiple
picture 1 mode. 16 pictures of
1
/
standard size can be taken at
16
an interval of 0.1 second.
Hi2: High resolution multiple
picture 2 mode. 16 pictures of
1
/
standard size can be taken at
16
an interval of 0.2 second.
S: Standard resolution mode (320 ×
240). Up to 120 pictures can be
taken.
6 Self-timer button
Press to take a picture using the self-
timer function. When the button is
pressed, the self-timer mark flashes on
the operation display. Pressing the
button again stops the self-timer
operation, and the mark disappears.
While the mark is flashing, press the
release button, and the red self-timer
lamp is lit for seven seconds, then
flashes for about three seconds, and
the shutter is released. If you press the
release button again before the shutter
is released, the self-timer operation is
interrupted momentarily.
