Safety notes

Avoid danger due to damaged external transformer
connection cables. In the case of damage, the
external transformer connection cable must be
replaced by the manufacturer or his customer service
department or an equally qualified person.
• Installation is only possible in frost-free rooms.
• The plug power supply is only suitable for indoor use.
• The plug-in connectors must not be directly or indirectly
sprayed with water when cleaning.
• The fitting must be connected to a permanent supply
voltage.
• The voltage supply must be separately switchable.
• The filter head is equipped with a non-return valve.
• The filter head must be replaced after 5 years.
• Filter system
- Flush before using for first time.
- Protect from direct sunlight and mechanical damage.
- Do not install near heat sources or open flames.
- Only operate with foodstuff-grade cold water.
- Do not disassemble or open while in operation.
- Do not leave out of service for extended periods of time.
- The filter cartridge has a maximum shelf life of 5 years in
unopened condition.
- The filter cartridge has a maximum service life
of 6 months in operation.
• The filter system must be put out of service in the event of
an instruction from the authorities to boil mains water. The
filter cartridge must be replaced and the connections
cleaned after this request is lifted.
• The filter material in the filter cartridge is specially treated
with silver for hygiene reasons. A small amount of silver,
harmless to health, can be released into the water.
This amount is in keeping with the recommendations of the
World Health Organisation (WHO) for drinking water.
The values specified in the Codex Alimentarius Austriacus
can, however, be exceeded if necessary.
• It is generally recommended to boil mains water for certain
groups of people (e.g. immuno-compromised people,
babies). This also applies to filtered water.
• Note for people suffering from a kidney disease or dialysis
patients: Filtering can result in a slight increase in the
potassium content. We recommend that you consult your
doctor if you are suffering from a kidney disease or are on
a low-potassium diet.
• The water filtrate is classified as Category 2 as per EN 1717.
• Filtered water is a foodstuff and must be used within 1
to 2 days.
• GROHE recommends not leaving the filter system out of
service for extended periods of time. If the GROHE Blue
filter system is not used for a few days (2–3 days), the filter
system must be flushed with at least 2 litres of water.
Following stagnation periods of more than 4 weeks, the filter
system must be flushed with at least 20 litres of water or
completely replaced.
Applications
The filter cartridge reduces the water hardness of drinking
water as a function of the adjustable degree of hardness of the
water. Furthermore it binds heavy metal ions such as lead,
copper and cadmium. It also reduces cloudiness as well as
organic and taste-altering constituents and chlorine residues.
The proportion of the non-softened water can be set using the
integrated bypass.
The fitting can be operated with:
• pressurised storage heaters,
• thermally-controlled instantaneous heaters,
• hydraulically-controlled instantaneous heaters.
Operation with unpressurised storage heaters is not
possible.
