Fitting the microphone
The microphone is fitted using the holder supplied and the USB cable. Up to 3 microphones can be used
in parallel. Note that the microphone should not be fitted next to windows or ventilation. This recommen-
dation is designed to prevent the microphone picking up intrusive sounds and background noise.
1. Position the microphone's holder in a suitable location in the vehicle, preferably centrally in the
vehicle, where power can also be supplied via a USB socket. If the vehicle does not have a USB
socket, the USB device on the Gateway can be used. Note that in this case the Gateway must
be supplied with power directly from the battery, it must be protected by a 1 A fuse and the cable
section must be able to withstand a minimum of 1 A. The 12 V supply to the Gateway must be
installed by a qualified technician.
2. Secure the microphone holder with a screw or double-sided tape in the permanent trim.
3. Fit the microphone in the holder. Remember that the microphone's micro USB port must be
accessible from the side of the holder and easy to reach.
4. Plug the USB cable into the microphone's USB port.
5. If several microphones are to be installed, repeat steps 1–4.

Fire risk
Installation of a separate 12 V power supply must be performed by a qualified technician and should
include a fuse with a rating of at least 1 A, but not exceeding the rated cross section capacity of the
chosen cable installed on a 12 V positive system.
