5.1 Monitor-Eingänge
Die Monitor-Eingänge (13) des PA-1200M mit den
Monitor- oder Lautsprecher-Ausgängen der zu kon-
trollierenden Verstärker verbinden. Es können Aus-
gänge mit Nennpegeln von 1 – 100 V angeschlos-
sen werden.
5.2 Signalquelle mit Line-Pegel
Den symmetrischen Ausgang einer Signalquelle mit
Line-Pegel (0 dBm) mit dem AUX-Eingang (12) ver-
binden.
Dabei ist die Klemmenbelegung:
„+" = Signal +
„-" = Signal -
„G" = Masse/Kabelabschirmung
Bei Verwendung einer asymmetrischen Signalquelle
das Signal auf die Klemme „+" legen. Die Klemmen
„-" und „G" mit dem Kabelschirm verbinden.
5.3 Kopfhörer
Zum Abhören über einen Kopfhörer diesen an die
6,3-mm-Klinkenbuchse (1) anschließen. Der einge-
baute Lautsprecher (2) wird dadurch abgeschaltet.
Die Impedanz des Kopfhörers muß mindestens
32 Ω betragen.
5.4 Strom- und Notstromversorgung
Erst nachdem alle anderen Komponenten verbun-
den sind, den Verstärker an eine Stromversorgung
anschließen.
1) Soll das Gerät bei Netzausfall weiterarbeiten, an
die Klemmen DC POWER
24-V-Akkumulator anschließen.
Hinweis: Bei angeschlossener Notstromversor-
gung läßt sich das Gerät mit dem Netzschalter
POWER (7) nicht ausschalten. Es wird lediglich
zwischen Netz- und Notstromversorgung umge-
schaltet. Das Gerät geht in Betrieb, sobald die
Versorgung angeklemmt wird. Darum vorher den
Pegelsteller für die Abhörlautstärke (5) auf „0"
drehen.

5 Connecting the PA Audio Monitor
All connections should only be made by skilled per-
sonnel and with the PA system and the monitor
switched off in any case!
To facilitate handling, it is possible to pull off the
screw terminals of the inputs DC POWER (11), AUX
(12), and MONITOR (13) from their plug-in connec-
tions on the unit and to insert them again after the
connection is made.
5.1 Monitor inputs
Connect the monitor inputs (13) of the PA-1200M to
the monitor outputs or speaker outputs of the ampli-
fiers to be checked. It is possible to connect outputs
with nominal levels of 1 to 100 V.
5.2 Signal source with line level
Connect the balanced output of a signal source with
line level (0 dBm) to the AUX input (12).
The terminal configuration is as follows:
"+" = signal+
"-" = signal-
"G" = ground/cable screen
If an unbalanced signal source is used, connect the
signal to the terminal "+". Connect the terminals "-"
and "G" to the cable screen.
5.3 Headphones
For monitoring via headphones, connect the head-
phones to the 6.3 mm jack (1). Thus, the integrated
speaker (2) is switched off. The impedance of the
headphones must be minimum 32 Ω.
5.4 Power supply and
emergency power supply
After all other components have been connected,
connect the amplifier to a power supply.

6 Bedienung des ELA-Audio-Monitors
6.1 Einschalten
Vor dem Einschalten den Pegelsteller LEVEL (5) auf
„0" drehen. Dann erst den ELA-Audio-Monitor mit
dem Schalter POWER (7) einschalten. Die Betriebs-
anzeige (8) leuchtet.
Ist eine Notstromversorgung angeschlossen,
leuchtet die Betriebsanzeige ständig, und der Moni-
tor ist immer in Betrieb. Mit der Taste POWER läßt
sich dann lediglich zwischen Netzversorgung und
Notstromversorgung umschalten. Für den normalen
Betrieb mit der Taste POWER auf Netzversorgung
schalten (Schalterstellung wie in Abb. 1). Bei einem
Netzausfall schaltet das Gerät dann automatisch auf
die Notstromversorgung um.
6.2 Anpassen der Eingangspegel
Mit den Pegelstellern RANGE (4) die Pegel der ein-
zelnen Monitor-Eingänge so anpassen, daß bei
maximalem Signal die entsprechende Aussteue-
rungsanzeige (3) bis zur „0" aufleuchtet. Die um den
Pegelsteller herum aufgedruckten Spannungswerte,
die dem Nennpegel von Verstärkerausgängen ent-
sprechen, dienen dabei als Orientierung.
6.3 Auswahl der Signalquelle
(11) einen Mit dem Drehschalter SELECTOR (6) die Signal-
quelle auswählen, die zur Kontrolle abgehört wer-
den soll. Es kann zwischen den Monitor-Eingängen
1 bis 10 (13) und dem AUX-Eingang (12) gewählt
werden. In der Position OFF ist der Lautsprecher
bzw. der Kopfhörer ausgeschaltet.

mains failure, connect a 24 V rechargeable bat-
tery to the terminals DC POWER (11).
Note: With the emergency power supply connec-
ted, the unit cannot be switched off with the
POWER switch (7). It only switches between
mains supply and emergency power supply. The
unit starts operating as soon as it is connected to
the power supply. Therefore, turn the level control
for the monitoring volume (5) to "0" beforehand.
2) Finally connect the supplied mains cable first to
the mains jack (9) and then to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz).
6 Operating the PA Audio Monitor
6.1 Switching on
Prior to switching on, turn the LEVEL control (5) to
"0". Then switch on the PA audio monitor with the
POWER switch (7). The power LED (8) lights up.
If an emergency power supply is connected, the
power LED lights continuously and the monitor is
always in operation. With the POWER switch it is
only possible to switch between mains supply and
emergency power supply. For normal operation,
switch to mains supply with the POWER switch
(switch position according to fig. 1). In case of mains
failure, the unit automatically switches to emergency
power supply.
6.2 Matching the input levels
Match the levels of the individual monitor inputs with
the level controls RANGE (4) in such a way that in
case of maximum signal the corresponding level
indication (3) lights up to "0". The voltage values
printed around the level controls which correspond
to the nominal level of amplifier outputs serve as a
guidance.
6.4 Einstellen der Abhörlautstärke
Mit dem Pegelsteller LEVEL (5) die gewünschte
Abhörlautstärke für die Wiedergabe des gewählten
Signals über den eingebauten Lautsprecher oder
den Kopfhöreranschluß einstellen.
Vorsicht! Stellen Sie die Kopfhörerlautstärke nie
sehr hoch ein. Hohe Lautstärken können auf
Dauer das Gehör schädigen! Das menschliche
Ohr gewöhnt sich an große Lautstärken und
empfindet sie nach einiger Zeit als nicht mehr so
hoch. Darum eine hohe Lautstärke nach der
Gewöhnung nicht weiter erhöhen.

6.3 Selecting the signal source
Use the rotary switch SELECTOR (6) to select the
signal source to be monitored as a check. Choose
between the monitor inputs 1 to 10 (13) and the AUX
input (12). In the position OFF, the speaker or the
headphones are switched off.
6.4 Adjusting the monitoring volume
Use the LEVEL control (5) to adjust the desired
monitoring volume for the reproduction of the select-
ed signal via the integrated speaker or the head-
phone connection.
Caution: Do not adjust the headphones to a very
high volume. Permanent high volumes may
damage your hearing! The human ear will get
accustomed to high volumes which do not seem to
be that high after some time. Therefore, do not fur-
ther increase a high volume after getting used to it.
