Installing the Unit to Your
Computer
Install the unit to your computer as follows:

Prepare the following items.
This unit (UPB-C10) (1)
Supplied CD-ROM (1)
Prepare the following items by yourself.
Computer (1)
SATA cable (7 pins) (1)
USB cable for the motherboard (USB B-type to pin
header socket) (1)
Fixing screws (M3 × 5) (4)

Open the cover of your computer.

Connect the SATA cable (7 pins) to one of the
available SATA connectors (for signal) on the
motherboard. Remove the available SATA power
cable (15 pins) from the inside of the computer.
Note
Confirm the capacity of the current supplied by the
SATA power cable.
DC 12 V: 3 A and above
DC 5 V: 2 A and above

Connect the pin header socket of the USB cable to the
USB pin header of the motherboard.
For further details on how to connect to the USB pin
header, refer to your computer manual.
You can also connect to the external USB connector
of a computer using an A-B type plug.

Install the unit to your computer.
You can install the unit in a similar way as you would
install any other disc drive.
For details, refer to your computer manual.

Connect the SATA cable (7 pins) and the SATA power
cable (15 pins) to the rear of the unit.
Note
Do not connect the B-type plug of the USB cable to
the unit yet.
