3. Installation

Warning
Before beginning installation, make
sure that the power supply has been
switched off and that it cannot be
accidentally switched on.

3.1 RF safety

Installers and end users must be
provided with these installation and
operating instructions and operating

compliance.
The antenna used for the product in which the
CIM XXX is fitted must be installed to provide a
separation distance of at least 20 cm from persons
and must not be co-located or operated in
conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
Do not operate the product near medical devices.
This also applies to personal devices, such as
hearing aids and pacemakers.
Do not operate the product in potentially
explosive areas, such as petrol stations,
chemical plants and blasting areas.
Interference of other electronic equipment may occur
if the equipment is inadequately protected.

3.2 Antenna precautions

The combined gain of the cable-antenna solution
used for this product must not exceed 1.4 dBi
(850 MHz) and 3.0 dBi (1900 MHz).
3.3 Radiofrequency radiation exposure
information
This equipment complies with FCC radiation
exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled
environment. This equipment should be installed and
operated with a minimum distance of 20 cm between
the radiator and your body.
This transmitter must not be co-located or operated
in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
This device complies with Part 15 of the
FCC Rules and with RSS-210 of
Industry Canada.
Operation is subject to the following
two conditions:

2. this device must accept any
interference received, including
interference that may cause
undesired operation.
Changes or modifications made to this
equipment not expressly approved by
Grundfos may void the FCC

3.4 Fitting a GSM antenna

The antenna supplied with the CIM 2XX must be
connected to the CIM 2XX to establish connection to
the GSM network.
If the CIM 2XX is installed in a metal
control cabinet, Grundfos recommends

to fit an external GSM antenna.
External antenna
See fig. 2.
Connect the antenna cable to the SMA connection
(pos. 1) of the CIM 2XX. The antenna must be
installed outside the control cabinet in a position with
good reception conditions.
