Replacing the filter and drier cartridge

The filter and drier cartridge is responsible
for cleaning the contaminated coolant from
the vehicle A/C system of moisture and
suspended particles . If the filter and drier
cartridge is saturated, an adequate filter
function is no longer guaranteed and the con-
taminated coolant gets back into the cooling
circuit of the vehicle A/C system . This can
lead to a deterioration of the cooling power
of the vehicle A/C system .

When inserting the new filter and drier
cartridge, note the installation position .
The replacement procedure is as follows:
1.
Disconnect ACS 400/450 from lighting
mains . Detach power plug .
2.
Unscrew screws on front cover (4x) and
remove the cover .
3.
Open the two lock nuts (Fig . 10; item 1) whi-
le holding the filter and drier cartridge .
4.
Remove holding strap (Fig . 10; item 2) .
5.
Remove filter and drier cartridge .
6.
Fit new O rings on the connecting pipes .
7.
Insert the new filter and drier cartridge
with the flow direction arrow pointing
down (Fig .10; item 3) .
8.
Replace the two lock nuts (Fig . 10;
item 1) while holding the filter and drier
cartridge .
9.
Secure the filter and drier cartridge with a
new holding strap (Fig . 10; item 2) .
