Checking clip-on trigger input
i
The P 100 tester is required for this purpose.
1. Select "Test steps >> Multimeter" in the FSA.
2. Connect an induction loop to the clip-on trigger
output of the P 100.
3. Pre-select a speed of 600 on the P 100.
4. Switch on the P 100.
5. Clip the trigger to the induction loop.
6. Alter the speed on the P 100.
? If the device is intact, the speed set on the P 100
is displayed in the measurement program.

Checking input/multi measurement
cable CH1
i
The P 100 tester, a toroidal coil for adjusting the
current probe (n=20) and a digital multimeter are
required for this purpose.
1. Connect the toroidal coil (n=20) and the digital mul-
timeter in series with this for current measurement
to the P 100.
2. Select "Test steps >> Multimeter" in the FSA.
3. Switch on the P100.
4. Connect the 30 A current probe to the toroidal coil.
5. Set a current of 1 A at the toroidal coil.
? A current of 20 A is shown in the measurement
program display.
6. Check the current values displayed on the basis of
the following formula:
Current measured with digital multimeter x no. of to-
roidal coil windings = value displayed in FSA (I x n).
5.7
Checking timing light input
i
The P 100 tester is required for this purpose.
1. Select "Test steps >> Ignition point" in the FSA.
2. Apply the speed signal to the P 100 by way of the
clip-on trigger.
? The timing light starts to flash.

Checking using RB system
i
Heed the following documentation for checking with
the RB system:
R
"KTS 520/550" 1 689 975 183
R
"KTS 530/540/570" 1 689 975 204

The "Customer service" menu in the RB system can be
used for checking various components and the follow-
ing cables of the system tester KTS 5xx:
R
Uni cable 1 684 465 487
R
CARB-Mux connecting cable 1 684 465 506
R
Measurement cables 1 684 430 066, 1 684 430 067
R

Checking using RBSer32Test.exe
RBSer32Test.exe is used to check communication
between the computer unit and the components con-
nected to various interfaces.
i
The file can be found under
C:\IA4KD\RBSER32TEST.EXE.
1. Start the file "RBSer32Test.exe".
2. Double click to select the item number of the unit to
be checked.
3. Start the test with <Start>.
? A green tick appears in front of the corresponding
component designation if communication with a
component is OK.
? If there is a problem with component communi-
cation, a red cross appears in front of the corre-
sponding component designation. In this case:
Check the connectors and the power supply.
4. Check again with a reference USB cable if necessary.
6.3
Checking using Windows control
panel
Proper operation of the printer can be checked under
"Control panel" in Windows.
