Replacing the filters GF2 and GF3
Detach the filter (Fig. 6, Item1) together with the
angular hose fittings (Fig. 6, Item 2) from the upper and
lower connection piece.
Detach both angular hose fittings from the filter by
twisting gently and attach them to a new filter.
Attach the new filter with the angular hose fittings to
the connection pieces; refer to the label on the back of
the unit for the installation position.
Affix the sticker 1 689 980 296 to each new GF3 filter.
The applicable date and the signature of the person
performing the work must be marked on the stickers.
The date provides a reference for the replacement
interval and the signature confirms authorized filter
replacement. Use a non water-soluble felt-tip pen for
labelling the sticker.

Checking the display stability
Detach the exhaust gas sampling hose from the AMM at
the exhaust gas measurement inlet.

There must not be any engine exhaust gases,
gasoline or cleaning agent vapors in the atmosphere
in the vicinity of the ESA.
Call up the "Diagnosis / gas values" menu in the ESA
program (refer to ESA program description). Following
system setting (zero calibration and HC residue test),
the unit displays the current measured values.
Observe the display for approx. 2 minutes with regard
to limit values and stability.
