2 Using the SaunaUpgrade
Advice for parents:
• 0 to 1 year: Babies up to 12 months old should only use the SaunaUpgrade when
held in the arms of an adult and for not longer than 10 minutes.
• 1 to 3 years: Small children from one to three years old should maintain a
distance of at least 10 cm from the radiator. Max. duration of application:
10 minutes
• 3 to 6 years: Children from three to six years old should maintain a distance of at
least 5 cm from the radiator. Max. duration of application: 15 minutes.
Children may only use the SaunaUpgrade under the supervision
of an adult.
Can I use the SaunaUpgrade despite the fact that I have implants?
Under no circumstances must the infrared radiation of the SaunaUpgrade be al-
lowed to directly heat implanted materials. In general, implants have to be designed
to withstand temperatures of over 42°C (fever). Implants will therefore be able to
withstand an increase in core body temperature of between 0.2°C and 0.3°C without
any problem.
The EMF (electromagnetic field) limits for electronic implants are also far from
being reached by the SaunaUpgrade. Electronic implants (such as pacemakers) are
not affected.

Quick use instructions

2.9.1 Before the session

• Heat the room to 27-37°C
• Only use the SaunaUpgrade when you are completely dry
(Dry yourself thoroughly after showering beforehand)
• Switch on the SaunaUpgrade
• Sit with your back facing directly towards the radiator

2.9.2 During the session

• Use a towel to sit on.
• Sit with your back facing directly towards the radiator.
• Only use the SaunaUpgrade for as long as you find it pleasant!

2.9.3 After the session

• Clean with a slightly moist towel (especially those areas that have come into
contact with the body or sweat)
• Clean the sauna as stipulated in the directions for use

3 Procedure in the event of errors

3.1 Troubleshooting

Have repairs and maintenance carried out by Physiotherm service personnel only!
To do this, shut down the system and disconnect the power supply. Check the sys-
tem is de-energised and secured against unintentional start-up.

3.2 Error messages

Error messages are indicated by means of flashing LEDs on the
control element.
