2.5 The optimum setting of the overall system

Everybody perceives heat differently. What may be "too little" for one person may be
"too much" for someone else. Your personal sense of well-being should therefore
be the only consideration when it comes to the frequency, length and intensity of
infrared sessions.
The cabin air temperature
The thermically neutral surrounding temperature varies from person to person. As
a rule of thumb: For a corpulent person, temperatures from 30 to 34°C are to be
considered "thermically neutral". In a slender, slim person, however, 35 to 37°C is
required.
Test different temperature ranges to see how your body reacts!
The back radiator
The supply of heat is automatically regulated via the SENSOcare® technology (see
section "SENSOcare® technology").
The so-called visual analogue scale should help you to find the correct intensity
setting. On the grading scale from 1 to 10, level 1 means "I feel no heat" and 10
means "It is too hot".

Using the SaunaUpgrade
You should never feel a light "burning" or "tingling".
Drink a glass of water before and after every infrared session.
Regulate the internal temperature of the sauna and the radiator
intensity in line with your personal sensitivity.
The best way to refresh yourself is to take a quick,
lukewarm shower after the session.
2.6 The optimum frequency, duration and intensity of infrared sessions
If you want to use your SaunaUpgrade for the purposes of protecting your health
and detoxification, we recommend a session of approx. 20-30 minutes every other
day.
For the treatment of simple back pain, 1-2 sessions of 20-30 minutes each day over
a short period of time can be quite suitable and is recommended.
Altered sensitivity to heat
Certain factors or other external influences can change your skin's sensitivity to heat
and make it more difficult to find the optimum application of heat. Here are some
factors that can influence your sensitivity to heat:
• Injuries to your skin or nervous system (e.g. paralysis), mechanical
irritation to the skin (through massaging or rubbing), exposure to cold (cooled
skin)
• Taking medications (painkillers, anti-inflammatories,
cortisone and psychotropic drugs, etc.), alcohol and drugs
• Chronic illnesses (these also include illnesses for which the
use of Physiotherm infrared technology for support can be very
worthwhile, e.g. for diabetes or various
autoimmune diseases)
If one or more of these factors affect you, you should take particular care when
using your SaunaUpgrade.
Start on a low intensity, and if possible get a second person to check how red your
skin is after the session. Reddening of the skin on the back in the direct vicinity
of the radiator is perfectly normal and even desired, and should have completely
disappeared again after approx. 3 hours.
