Programming Mode
The programme memory of the CD player has 20 memory loca-
tions for storing up to 20 tracks. On discs with index-encoding, a
number of indexes, which depends on how the indexes are as-
signed to the tracks, can also be stored. If you store one or more
indexes within a track, the track requires only one more memory
location.
ft the linnit of the memory capacity is reached, "Err" will appear for a
short time in the display.
Programming
Insert a disc into the disc tray and close the tray.
The player scans the directory of the disc and shows the total
playing time of the disc in minutes and seconds in the display. The
numerical display shows the num ber of tracks of the disc. When
switching over to numerical indication with button DISPLAY
MODE, the display shows the number of tracks in figures.
The programming mode can be switched on and oft with button
PROGR. ON/OFF. When switched on, the I TRACKI sign indication
will flash. The programming mode will remain activated for about
20 seconds, i.e. a programming step must be performed within
this time. For further activating the programming mode, press one
of the buttons TRACK, INDEX (only with index-encoded discs),
STORE or CANCEL. In each case, the ITRACKI or I INDEX sign will
flash in the display.
Selection of a track or index with the buttons TRACK or INDEX, re-
spectively, can be followed on the numerical display: The respec-
tive number will flash. lt the found number is stored with button
STORE, the number changes from flashing to permanent illumina-
tion and the next number starts flashing, depending on which
direction or you have selected.
By actuating the button STORE step by step, it is possible to store
complete blocks of tracks.
Also it is possible to cancel undesired indexes or tracks being
selected with button TRACK or INDEX by pressing the CANCEL
button. After the track/index is cancelled, the unit automatically
advances to the next track/index.
The programmed tracks are shown by the numerical display.
To save memory space, you can apply the positive or negative pro-
gramming mode, depending on the circumstances:
If you wish to select only a few out of many tracks, positive pro-
gramming as given in examples below is recommended.
On the other hand, it you want to select nearly all tracks, the nega-
tive programming mode will be of advantage.
Track Programming
You can change the sequence of tracks of a disc as desired and select only those tracks you like.
A track can only be stored once in a programme.
Example:
Out of a disc with 5 tracks you wish to hear only the tracks 2, 4 and 1 in this sequence.
