welding numbers (i.e., numbered previous joints) exist already in
memory for the previously entered commission number. If this is the
case, the last existing welding/joint number of that commission is in-
cremented by 1 and this new welding number is offered on the screen.
You can either confirm it (START/SET key) or use the ï, , ñ, ò cursor
keys to change it and confirm the new number by START/SET. If only
the welding number option is enabled, but the commission number
option disabled, the last existing welding number, incremented by 1,
is offered, no matter to which commission that welding belonged.
Welding/joint numbers have four digits. The first three of
them are numerical only, the fourth digit can be a number
or a letter. When numbers are automatically incremented
Important
by 1, only the first three digits are taken into consideration,
the fourth place remains as is in the new number.
Be sure that welding numbers are entered in ascending order
(e.g., as proposed by the machine). Otherwise reliable number
assignment without ambiguities cannot be guaranteed.

4.2.4 Entering oder Changing Further Data on Component Traceability

In the same way as welder identification code, commission and weld-
ing number, other data relating to the components can be entered if
they are enabled in the Configuration Menu. They are requested in the
following order: length of the 1
the 2
pipe, code of the 2
nd
tions, additional data (as defined by the user).
If pipe codes for the two pipes are entered and if those pipe
codes state different sizes and/or Standard Dimension Ratios
(SDR) for the pipes, then a code error is triggered since these

welding parameters must be identical for both pipes.
All data can be entered by using the ï, , ñ, ò cursor keys and con-
firming them by pressing the START/SET key or can be scanned from
a bar code, if available, with the scanning pen. One exception is the
weather (see Display 9). This option is presented as a list in which the
applicable conditions can be selected by pressing ñ or ò and confirmed
by pressing the START/SET key.

Welding in the SPG Mode

If the machine is set to Manual Mode (fully manual welding
process without data logging/report generation), the opera-
tor can switch it to SPG Mode by pressing the ï and  arrow
keys simultaneously.

chassis. Use the appropriate reducer inserts if the compo-
nent size is smaller than the basic machine chassis. When the
fourth clamp of the machine is removed, tees and elbows can
be processed. Then, to launch the welding process, press the
START/SET key.
After all traceability data enabled in the configuration menu were
entered, the parameters of the pipes to be welded have to be entered.
If pipe parameters of an earlier welding are available and no code
error was detected, all welding parameters of the previous welding
are proposed and can be confirmed in one go (see Display 12).
