Subsequent to a successful auto-test or after the test was bypassed,
the machine first shows overview screens on the selected kind of ma-
chine and welding standard, then Display 2 with the report-related
data applicable to the next welding, including time of day (alternat-
ing with the outside temperature), date, and the identifier number
of the next report.
From Display 2, it is possible to access the Configuration Menu in which
the default behavior of the welding machine can be configured. To
access it, press the MENU key and then, in the following enter code
screen, scan the supplied menu selections code with the scanning
pen.
Pressing the ñ and ò cursor keys, you can select a menu option, then
access the selected sub-menu by pressing the MENU key again.
In the Machine Data sub-menu, the type of machine (its designation
and the applicable cylinder section) to which the hydraulic, control,
and data logging/report generation unit is connected, has to be de-
fined (see the arrow symbol in Display 4). This definition is preset ex
works and needs changing only when, exceptionally, the control unit
is connected to a different machine. To change it, select the proper
machine type by pressing the ñ or ò cursor keys and confirm by press-
ing the START/SET key.
If the wrong machine is selected in this menu, all pressure
computations that the machine makes when welding in the
SPG mode, will be wrong!
Important
As an addition to the preinstalled machines, user-defined machine
types can be defined as needed at the unused menu entries (a desig-
nation for the machine and its cylinder section have to be set).
The Sensor Parameters sub-menu, used to calibrate the pressure and
the temperature sensors, should be accessed by authorized staff only
and is, therefore, protected by another access code disclosed only to
such personnel as is allowed to manage these settings.
4.1.3 Setting the Default Configuration of the Machine
The Reporting sub-menu of the Configuration Menu allows the con-
figuration of the default behavior as to which welding parameters
and traceability data should be logged and appear in the welding
reports. When the Reporting sub-menu was selected, the screen dis-
plays a list of configuration options that can be accessed using the ñ
and ò cursor keys (see Display 5). The cursor key is used to toggle
for the selected option: from ON to OFF and vice versa. The presence
of a –M– next to a setting means that a sub-menu is accessible by
pressing the MENU key.
On both menu levels (Configuration Menu and its respective
sub-menus), press the START/SET key to save the settings to
memory or press the STOP/RESET key to return to the previ-
Important
ous menu level without saving possible changes.
In the Configuration Menu, the configuration options listed in the table
below can be set. In sub-menus allowing user-defined inputs, use the
ï and arrow keys to move the cursor from place to place. Use the
ñ and ò keys to modify the place at which the cursor currently is.
