Application
Thermostatic mixers are designed for use with a hot water supply
via pressurized storage heaters. When used in this way, a constant
water temperature is assured.
Thermostatic mixers cannot be used with unpressurized storage
heaters (displacement water heaters).
All thermostatic mixers are adjusted at the factory with a flow
pressure of 3 bar on both sides.
If temperature deviations occur as a result of particular installation
conditions at the site, the mixer must be adjusted accordingly (see
Adjustment).

Minimum flow rate
If the flow pressure exceeds 5 bar, we recommend fitting a pressure
reducing valve in the supply pipe.
Installation
Flush piping system prior and after installation of fitting
thoroughly (Consider EN 806)!
Concealed position of the fitting is of free choice. Possibilities of
nipple-connection (H), see Fig. [1].
Screw-mount mixer securely, see Fig. [2].
In this connection, refer to the dimensional drawings on fold-out
page I. The hot water supply must be connected on the left, the cold
water supply on the right, as viewed from the operating position.
Test unions for leaks.
Reversed union (hot on right - cold on left).
Replace thermoelement (G), see replacement parts fold-out
page II, ref. No.: 47 379 (3/4").
Adjustment
When carrying out temperature adjustment, refer to Figs. [3], [4]
and fold-out page II.
• Before the mixer is put into service if the mixed water
temperature measured at the point of discharge varies from the
desired temperature at which the thermostatic mixer is set.
• After any maintenance operation on the thermostatic cartridge.
Open the stopcock and check the temperature of the water with a
thermometer, see Fig. [3].
With the safety stop depressed, turn temperature control knob (C)
until the water temperature reaches 38 °C.
- Remove cap (A).
- Secure temperature control knob (C) in this position and remove
screw (B).
- Pull off temperature control knob (C) and reinstall in such a way
that the 38 °C mark on the knob coincides with the mark (M) on
the mixer body.
- Secure temperature control knob (C) and reinstall screw (B), see
Fig. [4].
- Reinstall cap (A).
Temperature limitation
The safety stop limits the temperature range to 38 °C.
If a higher temperature is desired, the 38 °C limit can be overridden
by depressing the safety stop.
Frost Caution
When the domestic water system is drained, thermostatic mixers
must be drained separately, since non-return valves are installed in
the hot and cold water connections. For this purpose, the mixer
must be removed from the wall.
Maximum temperature limiter
The water temperature is limited to a maximum of 45 °C by a
removable temperature limiter (D).
If a higher temperature is desired, this temperature limiter can be
removed.
To do this, proceed as follows, see Fig. [5].
0.5 bar
1.Turn temperature control (C) to 38 °C position.
2. Remove cap (A).
1 bar
3. Remove screw (B).
10 bar
4. Pull off temperature control knob (C) and remove temperature
1 - 5 bar
limiter (D).
16 bar
5. Reinstall temperature control knob (C) in such a way that the
38 °C mark on the knob coincides with the mark (M) on the mixer
approx. 60l/min
body, then reinstall screw (B).
approx. 44l/min
6. Reinstall cap (A).

60 °C
Maintenance

When carrying out maintenance operations, refer to fold- out
page II.

I.Non-return valve
= 5 l/min
1. With 36mm open-ended spanner, unscrew and remove mixer
from unions.
2. Remove filter (P).
3. With 17mm socket spanner, remove union connection set (I) by
turning clockwise (left-hand thread).
4. Remove non-return valve (R).
5. Unscrew flexible hose. Disassemble clip (L).
6. Remove non-return valve (N).
II.Thermostatic cartridge
1. Pull off cap (A).
2. Remove screw (B) and pull off temperature control knob (C).
3. Remove regulating head (E).
4. Pull off stop ring (F).
5. With 24mm open-ended spanner, remove thermostatic
cartridge(G).
III.Ceramic headpart
1. Remove shut-off knob (K).
2. With 17mm open-ended spanner, remove ceramic headpart (J).
Inspect and clean all parts, replace if necessary and lubricate with
special grease.
Reassemble in the reverse order.
Readjustment is necessary after every maintenance operation on
the thermostatic cartridge (see Adjustment)
Replacement parts, see fold-out page II (* = special accessories).
