Assembly

The KWL compact unit is suitable for "hanging", for wall installation and therefore intended for installation within a resi-
dential/room unit. Due to the operating noise, it is recommended that the KWL unit is installed in an ancillary room
(washroom, hall, utility room, storeroom). Ensure that there is a wastewater connection in the installation area. Please
consider the information in section 2.2 "condensation outlet"!
Installation should take place in such a way to enable preferably short ventilation ducts and their trouble-free connection
to the unit. Tight bends can lead to increased pressure loss and flow noise. The ventilation pipes must never be kinked.
The attachment to the connection spigots must be firm and tight. With regard to maintenance and installation work, the
unit and the internal terminal box must be freely accessible.
Important notes:
1. Terminal box accessible on the left side of right-hand unit versions, on the right side of left-hand unit versi-
ons.
2. If a pre-heater or auxiliary heater is installed, the duct must be at least 1 m before and after the heater battery
from non-flammable material (see functional layout Fig.17).
3. The heater must be installed in such a way that the electric box is easily accessible.
4. In order to avoid sound transmissions, a suitable acoustic insulation must be planned on site depending
upon the structure.
5. When installing the KWL compact unit, a sufficiently accessible revision area must be provided.
6. The installation of the KWL compact unit is permitted only in frost-protected areas, since the danger of free-
zing exists. The ambient temperature may not drop below +5 °C.

Wall installation

In order to mount the unit to the wall, the minimum height of 300 mm up to the bottom edge of the ventilation
unit must be observed to ensure a proper condensation outlet (see Fig. below).
1. Mount the pre-assembled mounting rails horizontally to the wall (Fig.4). Then screw down the wall rail (in scope of
delivery) to the bottom of the rear panel of the compact unit (Fig.5).

2. Hang the compact unit on the mounting rail. The top mounting rail on the rear panel of the KWL unit is pre-assembled
(Fig.6).
Then screw the unit to the wall with the wall mounting rail (Fig.7).
Ensure that the unit is mounted to the wall on both wall rails!
