3.2 Wiring of PV inputs

The "PV side" consists of X1/X4, X2, and the two negative copper busbars. X1 and
X4 are two negative PV current input blocks, each one internally paralleled to its
corresponding negative copper busbar. X2 is the positive PV voltage input.
DANGER
There must be a way to isolate this equipment from the dangerous voltages
of the PV modules and the DC input of the inverter. Failure to observe this
requirement creates an electrical shock hazard. The recommended solution
is to install the following devices easily accessible and near this equipment
(typically inside the combiner box):
• f use-disconnectors (placed electrically between the PV modules and
this equipment). These are marked with an oval in the photo below.
• a n IEC 60947-3 certified DC-21B switch-disconnector
(placed electrically between this equipment and the inverter).
This is marked with a rectangle in the photo below.
• t he fuse-disconnectors and the switch-disconnector should be marked
in the combiner box as devices for the disconnection of this equipment.
