3. Safety
Only a qualified contractor should carry out installation, commis-
sioning, maintenance and repair of the water boiler.
3.1

General safety instructions

We can only guarantee trouble-free functioning and operational
reliability if the water boiler is operated with the BLANCO HOT HD
tap. Only use the original accessories and spare parts for the
system.
3.2

Instructions, standards and regulations

Note
Observe all applicable national and regional regulations
and instructions.

If the water connections are interchanged, the water
boiler will not work.

Never subject the water boiler to mains water pressure.
Mains water pressure may destroy the internal cylinder
gasket and lead to water damage.

For trouble-free operation, the total hardness of the DHW
must be lower than 14 °dH (2.5 mmol/l). This prevents
excessive scaling inside the water boiler.
Upwards of a total hardness of 14 °dH, the water
must be softened.
Suitable methods of water softening include centralised
ion exchangers or decentralised softening cartridges.
After the softening process, the pH value of the softened
DHW must be between 6.5 and 9.5 (range according to
the Drinking Water Ordinance [Germany]).

Delivered with the water boiler:

Preparations

Water installation
Flush the water lines thoroughly.
A safety valve is not required.
Taps/valves
Only use the BLANCO HOT HD kitchen tap.
Different taps are not permissible.
Connecting the power supply

Carry out all electrical connection and installation work
in accordance with relevant regulations.
You can connect the water boiler to the power supply as follows:
The power cable is provided with a plug for a standard safety
socket. This must be easily accessible after the water boiler
installation.
As an alternative, you may connect the water boiler to the
AC mains (appliance socket). The power supply must be able
to be separated from the mains by a device that isolates all
poles with a contact separation of at least 3 mm. Please note
that, where there is a considerable distance between the
MCB/fuse and the water boiler, for example, a second person
may be required for the RESET.
A connection to the mains by means of a direct (permanent)
power cable is not permissible.
Note
You may connect the water boiler via a time switch.
5.1

Installation site

Install the system in a room free from the risk of frost.
Always install the water boiler vertically and near the draw-
off point.
The water boiler is suitable for undersink installation.

!
The water boiler must be mounted on a wall with ad-
equate load bearing capacity.
