Basic functions

Switching on/off
 Press any button to switch on the radio.
 Hold down the P O W E R button to switch off the radio.
Dial/button - set volume and sound
You can use the multifunctional dial/button to set the volume, call up more sound set-
tings and to open the setting menu (see „Settings menu" on page 75).

 You can change the volume at any time by turning the dial/button. If you are in a
menu, wait for around 5 seconds before the radio automatically leaves the menu.
NOTE!
Always set the volume so that you can still clearly hear the sirens of police
and emergency vehicles!

Press the dial/button to select another sound setting. The current
value of the setting is shown in the display.
 You can turn the dial/button to change the setting.
NOTE!
The setting menu will open if you hold the dial/button down for 3 seconds
(see „Settings menu" on page 75).
Mute - switch the sound on or off
 Press the M U T E button to turn the sound off completely.
 You can switch the mute setting off by pressing any button.
The mute setting is also cancelled is you receive a P T Y or TA (traffic alarm) station.
