Replacing the SDS-Top
Tool Holder
Removal
Set the mode selector switch 4 temporarily to the
"Chiselling" position (drill spindle locked).
C Turn the locking sleeve 2 firmly counter
clockwise to the stop and pull off the tool holder.
Mounting
Place the tool holder on the drill spindle.
Turn the locking sleeve 2 counter clockwise (to
the left) and press back firmly at the same time
until the tool holder latches and locks itself. En-
sure that the tool holder is firmly seated.
Quick clamping drill chuck for
tools with a cylindrical shaft
(Optional extra)
With the quick clamping drill chuck (optional ex-
tra), tools with round shafts can be used.
The quick clamping drill chuck is not
suited for hammer drilling and chisel-
ling.
Mounting the Quick Clamping
Drill Chuck
Take off the SDS-top tool holder. Mount the quick
clamping drill chuck with drill chuck adapter 8
(optional extra) as the SDS-top tool holder.
Open the quick clamping drill

Open/close the quick clamping drill chuck 8 by
turning anti-clockwise or clockwise, respectively.
Clamping the Tool
Insert the tool into the opened quick clamping drill
chuck 8. The tool is clamped in two latching
stages:
Turn the quick clamping drill chuck 8 clockwise
up to the first latching resistance until it is felt to
engage. Then turn the drill chuck clockwise with
force, a little further, until a distinct latching click
is heard.
Allow the mode selector switch 4 to latch in
the "Drilling" position.

Remove the Tool
Turn the quick clamping drill chuck 8 anti-clock-
wise (to the left) through both latching positions
until it is possible to remove the tool.
Removing the Quick Clamping
Drill Chuck
Take off the quick clamping drill chuck with drill
chuck adapter 8 and the SDS-top tool holder.
Mode Selector Switch
Operate the mode selector switch 4 only
when the machine is at a standstill.
Press the release button 5 on the mode selector
switch 4 and turn the switch to the desired posi-
tion.
