The integrated visor too should only be cleaned by gently rubbing with lukewarm
water and soap and then rinsed clear and wiped dry. An alcohol-free window-
cleaning product may also be used to clean the visor. Correct cleaning, care
and handling of the helmet are essential for ensuring that it functions optimally.
Modifi cations to the helmet
Important! In their standard version your helmet and visor meet the applicable
standards and should therefore not be modifi ed or fi tted with any components or
parts that are not designed for them. Individual parts may only be replaced if they
are exactly the same as those originally supplied with the type-approved helmet or
if they have been specifi cally approved for the purpose by SCHUBERTH. The use of
lining units which were not designed for use with the helmet or of ones from other
companies, the drilling of additional holes to fi t accessories, or any other
modifi cations can seriously impair the helmet's protective function and render
its approval invalid. Only accessories that are specifi cally designed for the
SCHUBERTH F 220 may be used. Please contact us if in doubt.
Service life of the fi refi ghter helmet
The service life of this helmet depends on the material types used in its
construction as well as on the environment in which it is used and stored
(according to EN 443:2008). This fi refi ghter helmet with lacquered shell of further
developed, highly temperature-resistant duroplastic material (High-Temp-Fibre)
demonstrates outstanding resistance to ageing and is not susceptible to changes
through sunlight (UV radiation). The lifetime of the SCHUBERTH F 220 is
predominantly restricted by mechanical, thermal, atmospheric and chemical
infl uences. Duroplastics – such as the HighTemp Fibre used for this helmet – are
generally recognised as highly resistant to such stresses, and their ability to cope
with atmospheric, chemical and thermal infl uences is far greater than that of
thermoplastic materials.
Important! For the above reasons the helmet's service life may not exceed
a maximum of 15 years.
