Removing limescale

CAUTION
Risk of scalding!
Risk of burns through contact
with hot steam.
Let the appliance cool down

completely before opening
the water drain plug.
Avoid direct contact with
■
the hot steam.
Limescale must be removed reg-
ularly (at least once a month) de-
pending on water hardness and
the frequency of use. Limescale
must be removed preferably be-
fore the descale light comes on.
1. Switch off the appliance.
2. Pull the mains plug out of the
socket.
3. Let the appliance cool down
completely.
4. Empty the water tank (11).
5. Remove the iron (a) from
the steam generator (b) and
place the soleplate (5) on a
level surface.
6. Lay the steam generator on
its side.

7. Loosen the screw plate (21)
on the underside of the steam
generator from its fastening.
8. Remove the plastic cover from
the water drain plug (22).
9. Unscrew the water drain plug
and the screw plate in an an-
ti-clockwise direction.
10. Tilt the steam generator to
the side and allow water and
limescale to drain out.
11. Then tighten the water drain
plug and the screw plate in
a clockwise direction and re-
place the plastic cover.
12. Re-insert the screw plate into
its fastening.
13. Turn the steam generator up-
right and place the iron on the
thermal rest (6).
