7.2 Cutting angle adjustment

WARNING
For bevel cuts the maximum cutting depth
is limited.
Release the hand screws [4-2] on both sides.
Using the bevel indicator [4-3], adjust the
cutting angle to the required value (the bev-
el indicator is divided into 1° increments).
Re-tighten the hand screws [4-2].

7.3 Motor electronics

Starting current limitation
Smooth, electronically controlled starting en-
sures that the machine starts without kick-
back. Due to the machine's limited starting
current, a 16 A circuit breaker is suffi cient.
Idle speed reduction
The electronics reduce the machine's RPM
during idle, which also decreases wear to
the motor and gears.
Constant electronics
Constant electronics maintain the RPM the
same at idle and under load, which ensures
uniform work movement and a high-qual-
ity cut.
Electronic overload protection
If the machine is extremely overloaded,
electronic protection guards the motor from
damage. In this case, the motor stops and
resumes only after discharge, and after the
switch is engaged again.
Thermal overload protection
To prevent overheating under an extreme
long-term load, the safety electronics switch
the motor into cooling mode when the criti-
cal temperature is reached. The machine
cannot be loaded, and it runs at reduced
RPM. After cooling, the tool is once again
prepared for operation and can be fully
loaded in about 3 – 5 minutes. If the tool
gets hot while running, the heat protection
reacts correspondingly earlier.
RPM selection
Using the RPM regulator [1-14], it is pos-
sible to preselect the RPM continuously:
Level 1: 2200 min
Level 2: 2600 min
Level 3: 3200 min
Level 4: 3600 min

Preparation for use

8.1 Mounting the chain

When mounting the chain make sure it
seats correctly. The cutting teeth must be
positioned in the direction that conforms
to the chain rotation, i. e., the mark shown
on the body of the saw.
When the SSP 200 EB is delivered, the chain
is not mounted on the guide bar. Remove the
chain sprocket cover [2-1] by rotating the
fastening wheels [2-2] counter clockwise,
as shown in Fig. [2]. Put a new chain [2-3]
on the guide bar [2-4] and insert it into the
machine. Maintain the proper position of the
cutting teeth, according to the direction of
rotation. The direction of rotation is indi-
cated by an arrow on the body of the ma-
chine, and under the chain sprocket cover
there is a symbol showing how the chain
should be mounted. Place the guide ele-
ments of the chain onto the chain sprocket
[2-8] and turn using the chain adjustment
wheel [2-9] (when rotated clockwise as
seen from above, the pin moves upwards
and releases; when rotated counter clock-
wise as seen from above, the pin moves
downward) so that the opening on the guide
bar [2-5] snaps into the tension bolt [2-6].
Then put the chain sprocket cover [2-1] on
the clamping bolt [2-7] and tighten by ro-
tating the fastening wheel [2-2] clockwise.
Before tightening it fi rmly, tension the chain
correctly, as described in Section 11.1.

8.2 Filling the oil reservoir

When the SSP 200 EB is delivered, the lu-
brication oil reservoir is empty. Before using
the machine, you must fi ll the tank with
chain oil to prevent damage to the oil feed
pump. If the machine is operated with an
insuffi ciently fi lled oil reservoir or with a
dysfunctional lubricating system, the oil
feed pump will be damaged, as well as the
tool's entire cutting assembly!
The oil reservoir cap [1-9] has an opening
with a one-way suction valve for air pres-
sure compensation. If you use the machine
–1
in other than the vertical position, the chain
–1
may not get lubricated. The outlet of the oil
