MP3 and WMA

< This unit can play audio files that are on external USB flash drives.*
USB flash drives must be formatted as FAT 16 or FAT 32, but not
NTFS.
* The USB port on this unit only supports USB flash drives (also known
as "thumb drives" and "jump drives"). It does not support standard
USB hard drives.
< When more than 2000 files are recorded on the USB flash drive, the
unit might not be able to play them correctly.
< File names of MP3 or WMA files should be in alphanumeric
characters. This unit cannot display symbols or full-size or double-
byte characters (such as Japanese, Chinese, etc.) correctly. Also, be
sure to use the file extension. (".mp3" for MP3 files, ".wma" for WMA
files.)
< MP3 files are mono or stereo MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 format. This
unit can play MP3 files with a sampling frequency of 16 kHz to 48
kHz, and a bit-rate of 8 kbps to 320 kbps.
< This unit can play WMA files with a sampling frequency of 32 kHz,
44.1 kHz or 48 kHz and a bit-rate of 48 kbps to 192 kbps.
WMA stands for Windows Media Audio.
< Audio encoded at 128 kbps should sound close to regular audio
CD quality. Although this player will play lower bit-rate MP3 files,
the sound quality becomes noticeably worse at lower bit-rates.

Using an iPod/iPhone

This unit has two modes. In Direct Mode, the iPod/iPhone menu
is shown on the iPod/iPhone screen. In Extended Mode, the iPod/
iPhone menu is shown on this unit's screen. By default, this unit is set
to Direct Mode.
For instructions about how to change this mode, see "Changing the
display mode" on page 24.

iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G
iPod touch (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation)
iPod nano (3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th generation)

< This unit cannot output video from a connected iPod/iPhone.
< To connect an iPod/iPhone, use the USB cable supplied with the
iPod/iPhone.
< An iPod shuffle connected to this port cannot be played.
Compatible iPod/iPhone Software
In case your iPod/iPhone will not work with CD-H750 or with the
remote control unit, a software update may solve the problem.
Visit the Apple website and download the latest iPod/iPhone
software.

USB flash drives

CAUTION
Never put the unit in standby or disconnect a USB flash
drive when it is being accessed, for example, during writing,
playback, recording or the erasure of files.
Doing so could damage the CD-H750 and the connected USB
flash drive.
USB devices that can be used with this unit
This unit can play audio files that are on external USB flash drives*.

Compatibility
< Use a USB flash drive with power consumption of less than 500mA.
(When an iPhone is connected, it will be charged at 1A.)
< Some flash memory players that charge from a USB terminal
cannot be used for playback.
< Playable formats: FAT16, FAT32
< NTFS, HFS and HFS+ formats cannot be used.
< Max number of playable folders: 99
< Max number of playable/recordable files: 2000
< Depending on the conditions of a USB flash drive, this unit might
not be able to play the files on it or skipping might occur.
< Do not use devices that have a maximum current consumption of
more than 500 mA.
< Do not use devices that have security functions or other special
functions.
< Do not use devices that have been divided into two or more
partitions.
< Do not use a USB hub between this unit and the USB flash drive.
< Proper operation might not be possible depending on the
characteristics of the device.
< This unit cannot copy or move files that are stored on the USB flash
drive.
Recording
This unit can record sound from CDs to USB flash drives in MP3 format.
