Data Storage Media
When you save data to the hard disk or a floppy disk, it is stored as magnetic information on
the medium. Make sure that data is not damaged by magnetic or electromagnetic fields.
Avoid Jarring
Because the sophisticated electronics in your workstation can be damaged by jarring, no
mechanical devices should be placed on the same surface as the workstation. This is espe-
cially important for impact printers whose vibrations could damage the hard disk.
Allow for Ventilation
One or more fans are located inside the workstation to maintain an appropriate temperature
within the casing. In order for it to function properly, the ventilation slots must not be blocked.
Blocking them would cause the inner components to be damaged by high temperatures.
That is why it is not appropriate to install the workstation in a shelf unit or drawer.
