 Never use an appliance which is damaged or has a damaged mains cable (1.).
 Use extra vigilance when operating in the presence of children (2). Children should be
supervised and must not be allowed to play with the appliance.
 Do not operate the appliance on or in the vicinity of heat-sensitive objects (3.). Do not
place the appliance on plastic place mats or table cloths.
 Ensure that the appliance is standing firmly on the surface when in use (4.).
 Never place cloths or similar items over the appliance (fire hazard!) (5.). Do not touch
the hot grill plate. The appliance heats up above the air vents during operation – burn
hazard! Do not touch!
 The cheese holder heats up during use – only touch this using the handle during use.
 The appliance must be used with a grounded power supply (230V/50 Hz) with a 10 A
fuse (6.).
 Only use power cables with a minimum current rating of 10 A.
 Always pull on the plug, not the mains cable, when unplugging.
 Do not immerse the appliance in water to clean it (7.). The appliance is not dish-
washer-safe (danger of short-circuit!). Please observe the notes on care and cleaning
on page 29.
 Ensure that the local mains supply matches that detailed on the appliance type label.
 Position the mains cable and any extension cables in a safe manner to reduce the risk
of people tripping over them.
 Keep the mains cable away from hot surfaces or objects and naked flames (8.).
 Disconnect the mains cable from the power supply and let the appliance cool down suf-
ficiently before cleaning.
 If the appliance is damaged or defective, remove the mains plug immediately and have
the appliance checked and repaired by a professional electrical retailer. Never attempt
to repair the appliance yourself (9.)! The manufacturer accepts no liability for any dam-
age or injury arising from non-professional or attempted repair.
 The appliance may only be touched, transported and stored away after it has sufficiently
cooled down.
 The appliance may used by children above the age of 8 and by persons with limited
physical, sensory and mental capacity, provided they have been instructed and under-
stand its safe use and associated hazards. Do not let children play with the appliance.
The appliance must be stored out of reach of children under the age of 8.
