3.2. Preparing for use
Appliance location
The temperature of environment must not be higher than
40°C and the relative humidity should be less than 85%.
Ensure good ventilation in the room in which the device
is used. The distance between each side of the device and
the wall or other objects should be at least 35 cm. Keep
the device away from hot surfaces. Operate the device
on flat, stable, clean, refractory and dry surfaces out of
the reach of children and people with mental disabilities.
Install the device making sure that constant access to the
main plug is ensured. The power cord connected to the
appliance must be properly grounded and correspond to
the technical details. Before first use, remove all elements
and clean them along with the entire device. The device
should be set away from the edge of the surface on which
it will be positioned in order to prevent its accidental
throwing down. The device is intended for indoor use, and
the ambient temperature should not exceed the range
from 1 to 40 ° C.
WARNING! Regularly clean the device in order to prevent
permanent settling of impurities. Before first use, it is
recommended to brew 2-3 times the water itself in order
to clean the device.
3.3. Device use
NOTE! Before disconnecting the device from the power
supply, it is necessary to firstly switch it off using the ON/
OFF (C) buttons.
Brewing coffee
1.
Slide out the filter basket (D) using the handle and
insert a paper coffee filter in the inside.
2.
Fill the filter basket with the right quantity of coffee
(about 1 tablespoon of coffee for each poured cup
of water).
3.
Slide the filter basket (D) back in its place
4.
Open the lid (A) and pour the correct quantity of
water depending on the quantity of coffee being
poured and on your own needs. NOTE! Do not
overfill the device.
Rev. 23.06.2018
5.
Remove the lid of the pot / thermos (and remove the
pump tube – it applies only to the RCKM-2.2LSETP
and RCKM-2.2LP models) and position it under the
bottom hole of the filter basket.
6.
Connect the device to the power supply and switch
the left button (C) marked with the symbol
that its control lamp will light up.
7.
The brewing control light will light up and the device
will start operating. NOTE! The device will start
heating. Possibility of burns.
8.
After the time needed to brew the coffee the coffee
will start to flow out from the hole in the bottom of
the filter basket.
9.
After finishing the coffee brewing time the brewing
control lamp will go out. It is necessary to still wait
(about a minute) until the whole coffee flows to the
pot / thermos.
10.
In order to keep hot coffee, it is recommended to
leave the pot / thermos with coffee on the bottom
heating plate (F) (it applies only to RCKM-2.0LPSET
and RCKM-2.0LP models). The pot / thermos can be
left on the top heating plate (G). The heating of the
upper heating plate must be switched on with the
right button (C) marked with the symbol
.
11.
After finishing work with the device, it is necessary
to switch both buttons (C) to the OFF position (their
control lamps will go out), disconnect the device
from the power supply and then clean the device.
Dispensing the coffee from thermos (it applies to the
RCKM-2.2LSETP and RCKM-2.2LP models).
NOTE! During the brewing process a small quantity of
hot steam is gathered in the thermos. Be careful when
removing the thermos from the device.
After carefully removing the thermos from the base of
the device it is necessary place the pump tube into it and
to install the cover. In order to dispense the coffee from
the thermos it is necessary to lift the arm placed on the
thermos lid, and then press it down.
Reset button
If the device overheats, it will turn off automatically. In
order to turn the device on again, it is necessary to turn
on the reset button on the back of the device. Overheating
most often occurs due to the deposition of the scale on the
heating elements of the device. It is necessary to conduct
descaling before pressing the reset button and the further
work with the device.
Drain screw
After using the device, a certain quantity of water remains in
its interior, in the pipes and other parts of it. The device can
be emptied from the water remained in it by unscrewing
the drain screw located on the back of the device in its
lower part. It is recommended to slightly tilt the device in
order to ensure that all remaining water has flowed out.
Before draining the remaining water from the device, it
is necessary to provide a suitable container to which the
water will be drained. It is necessary to empty the device
from the remaining water before the device transportation
or its putting aside for storage.
3.4. Cleaning and maintenance
•
Before each cleaning, adjustment, replacement
of accessories and if the device is not used, it is
necessary to pull out the mains plug and cool the
device completely.
Rev. 23.06.2018
•
Before putting aside of the device for storage it is
necessary to empty it completely from water and to
wash it.
•
Use only mild detergents suitable for washing
surfaces which come into contact with food to wash
, so
the device.
•
After cleaning the device, all parts should be dried
before reusing it.
•
Store the unit in a dry, cool place, free from moisture
and direct exposure to sunlight.
•
Never spray the device with water jets.
•
Regular inspections of the device must be carried out
in terms of its technical efficiency and any damages.
•
The thermos / coffee pot and filter basket must be
washed every day after using the device. In order to
facilitate removal of dirt from coffee and its residues
from the pot / thermos it is recommended to pour
a mixture of water and vinegar into it, and to leave
for about 20 minutes and then to rinse the pot/
thermos with clean water.
•
External surfaces of the device must be wiped with
a soft, damp cloth, and then wiped dry with a soft,
dry cloth.
Descaling
Depending on the hardness of the water with which the
device operates, the internal parts of the device can be
covered with a scale (a limescale sediment). In order to
keep the device in the best condition and to obtain the
best coffee, it is necessary to perform descaling (removing
limescale) ca. every 6 months. It is also necessary to descale
the device if the coffee brewing process lasts longer than
usual, is louder or when the device turns off even when
there is still water in the tank.
1.
Prepare
a
descaling
solution
with
(ca.
1
litre)
according
to
the
manufacturer's recommendations. The solution
should not be warmer than 50 ° C.
2.
Slide the filter basket into its place (no coffee)
3.
Place the empty pot/thermos under the filter basket.
4.
Carefully pour the solution with the descaler into the
water tank.
5.
Turn on the brewing start button.
6.
Switch off the device after a small quantity of
solution flows out into the pot / thermos.
7.
Wait 5-6 minutes so that the device parts can remain
in the bath with the solution and then re-start the
brewing.
8.
After the solution has completely flown out it is
necessary to turn the device off and to remove the
solution.
9.
Due to the fact that a small quantity of descaler
could remain in the device it is necessary to conduct
brewing of water itself several times and to remove
the water. This will allow you to rinse the device.
Such brewing must be repeated until the water
flowing out from the device has no longer any signs
of presence of the descaling solution.
10.
After all the steps have been performed, the device is
again ready to brew coffee.
