Please read this section carefully. It contains important information, which must be
observed for safe, correct and economic application of the Defensor Mk4.
Defensor Mk4 steam humidifiers are intended exclusively for direct humidification
(with optional ventilation unit) or indirectly (via a steam distribution head in a
ventilation duct). Any other or further application is not considered use for the
intended purpose. The manufacturer/supplier cannot be made liable for any
damage resulting from improper use. The user bears full responsibility.
Correct use further includes:
- Observation of the instructions, regulations and notes contained in the present
operating instructions for the Defensor Mk4 humidifier.
- Observation of the prescribed inspection and maintenance intervals.
- Correct maintenance of the steam humidifier.
- Operation within the prescribed environmental and operating conditions.
- Defensor Mk4 steam humidifiers must only be operated, serviced and repaired
if necessary by persons familiar with these products and sufficiently qualified for
this work. The customer must ensure that the operating instructions are
supplemented by internal instructions with respect to supervisory and notification
liability, working organisation, personnel qualification, etc.
- Do not perform any operations for which you are not sufficiently qualified or for
which the consequences are not familiar. In case of doubt, consult your
supervisor in advance or make contact with your local Defensor agent.
- Before opening the Defensor Mk4 the unit should be disconnected from the
power supply (set all service switches to position "O") and protected from
unintentional starting.
- Maintenance and repair work must not be performed on open units under
voltage. If such work is unavoidable, however, it must only be carried out by
qualified personnel familiar with the associated dangers.
- Observe all local safety regulations concerning the handling of mains supplied
electrical and electronic equipment.
- The steam humidifier must only be operated under the specified operating
conditions (see section 7 "Technical data").
- If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the Defensor Mk4
must be put out of operation and protected from inadvertent operation. It may
be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible:
- when the Defensor Mk4 is damaged.
- when the Defensor Mk4 no longer operates correctly.
- when connections and conductors are not tight.
- following prolonged storage under unfavourable conditions.
- following severe transportation stresses.
- Use original accessories and spare-parts from your Defensor supplier exclusively.
- No attachments or modifications must be made to Defensor Mk4 steam humi-
difiers or optional accessories without the written consent of Axair AG.
