You can also charge the camcorder battery by leaving it in the
camcorder and connecting the camcorder to the computer by
using the USB/AV cable. To do this, proceed as described in
steps 1-3 on page 53 – Using the USB Port. If you keep the
camcorder powered off after the USB cable has been
connected to the computer, the battery will charge. The power
indicator (4) will light red to indicate that the camcorder
battery is being charged via the computer. As soon as the
battery is fully charged, the indicator stops lighting. To charge
the battery via the computer takes approx. 3 hours.

Inserting the Battery

When the battery is fully charged, insert it into the camcorder as indicated below.
1. Open the battery compartment. To do this, slide the lock (17) to the left and
release it. This will release the cover on top and it will protrude a little.
2. Insert your fingernail behind the cover and pull it off (see figure 1).
