4. INSTALLING THE PRODUCT IN THE POND
WARNING: do not proceed with the product installation if the
previous paragraphs have been not understood and followed.
Place the item at the bottom of the pond ensuring that

it is completely immersed in water and securely installed
on a solid, horizontal platform (see fi g. 1-2-3).
Adjust the height and the direction of the water feature

by moving and rotating the Telescopic Riser Stem up or
down (see fi g. below).
To use the additional outlet of the Diverter valve to

transfer water to a waterfall or other equipment, connect
a fl exible hose (not included) to the side outlet of the
Diverter Valve and secure it with a clamp (not included).

adjusted separately using the two yellow selector valves.

We suggest to install a thick string attacched in the

CLEANING OF POWERCLEAR MULTI

WARNING:
• Always unplug or disconnect all appliances in the pond
from the electrical supply before installing, repairing,
maintaining or handling the equipment in the water.
• NEVER LIFT THE POWERCLEAR MULTI BY THE CORD.
Check the line cord integrity after maintenance.
• DO NOT ATTEMPT TO VIEW THE LAMP WHEN LIT! Direct
exposure to ultraviolet light can damage eyes and skin.
• The pump motor has no user serviceable parts. If the
motor or the UVC device or the electrical cord is damaged,
discard the pump and the UVC assembly and replace it.
• Use original Laguna spare parts only. Refer to the Spare
Parts List for correct part number identifi cation.
To avoid shortening the life of the PowerClear Multi,
please refer to the maintenance table for all details about
maintenance frequency and operations. Start every cleaning
procedure following the steps below:
Switch off the unit by disconnecting the unit plug

from the main power supply.
Suggested Action
Remove the unit from the pond by the handle(s) or

by the thick string (if installed), unlock and separate the
main module from the fi lter module, pressing the "push"
button.
PUMP:
CAUTION: The pump motor includes a high quality ceramic
shaft that provides long-lasting, reliable performance when
properly maintained. However, extreme care should be
taken when handling the shaft during maintenance. Avoid
dropping or pressing too hard on it to avoid breakage or
hairline fractures, which may cause the shaft to snap while
in operation. In order to access the pump, proceed as follows,
once steps 1-2 above have been completed:
3) Remove the yellow impeller cover by twisting
counterclockwise and pulling it off.
4) Remove the impeller assembly.
5) If necessary, remove the impeller shaft.
6) Clean all components and impeller well in clean water
only, using a small, non-abrasive brush, if necessary. DO
NOT USE DETERGENTS OR OTHER CHEMICAL CLEANERS
which could damage the pump and pollute the pond.
7) Before the winter storage and at least once a year, it's
recommended to clean thoroughly the pump removing
it completely from the UVC assembly. Once removed the
pump-UVC assembly as described in the #3 and #4 of the
UVC chapter, disassemble the pump unlocking the water
circuit secure clamp. Check and clean the device.
8) Reassemble all components with care. Ensure that the
main module is securely locked.
UVC:
CAUTION: The UV-C lamp (B) and the quartz sleeve (C) are
made of glass. Handle all parts with care. Make sure that the
internal electrical parts of the appliance are dry before, during
and after the maintenance operations. To maintain optimum
performance, the UV-C lamp should be replaced every year.
In order to access the UV-C lamp and the quartz sleeve, proceed
as follows, once steps 1-2 above have been completed:
3) Unscrew the yellow Click Fit adapter; pull and remove the
Main module secure lock.
4) Remove the pump and UVC assembly from the main
module.
5) 5) Separate the UVC head by pushing the lever and rotating
the head counterclockwise (refer to the arrows). the head counterclockwise (refer to the arrows).
6) At this stage it is possible to clean the quartz sleeve, if
required. For cleaning the quartz sleeve, simply use a
damp soft cloth. In case of stubborn dirt, some vinegar
may be used. Do not use detergents or other chemical
cleaners. If it is not necessary to change the UV-C lamp,
go straight to point #11. go straight to point #11.
7) To access the UV-C lamp, remove the retaining fl ange by
unscrewing the 1 safety screw. Then rotate it of approx
30 deg counterclockwise to disengage the fl ange from its
place.
8) Pull out the quartz sleeve and then remove UV-C
lamp pulling it and replace it with a new one.
WARNING: Do not test the UV-C lamp unless the fi lter
is fully assembled and closed. Place the Quartz Sleeve
and the two O-rings back in their original position.
IMPORTANT – The Lamp Damper inside the quartz sleeve
must sit between the lamp and the bottom of the quartz
sleeve. Do not remove it.
