Safety instructions
Regarding the operating
manual
Read this operating manual through
completely before working with the
appliance. Keep the operating manual
safe. The appliance may only be op-
erated in households. It is not suitable
for industrial or commercial use.

3. Operating
1.
Switch on the dust sensor of your
fl oor nozzle. In order to do so,
press the ON switch (Fig. 1/2).
2.
Switch on your cylinder vacuum
cleaner. In doing so, observe the
operating manual of your cylinder
vacuum cleaner model.
3.
Vacuum the surface. In doing so,
observe the coloured LED on the
fl oor nozzle (Fig. 2) and adjust
your vacuuming behivour accord-
ing to the display.
4.
Switch off the cylinder vacuum
cleaner when you are no longer
using it. In doing so, observe the
operating manual of your cylinder
vacuum cleaner model.
NOTE:
Approximately 2 minutes after the
cylinder vacuum cleaner has been
switched off, the fl oor nozzle with dust
sensor automatically switches off.
Regarding the batteries
The appliance is operated with three
type AAA 1.5 V batteries.
Batteries can be life-threatening if
swallowed. For this reason, keep
batteries and appliance away
from small children. If a battery
was swallowed, immediately seek
medical attention.
Do not throw the batteries into fi re
or subject to high temperatures.
There is a risk of explosion.
If used wrongly, fl uid can leak from
the batteries. This can cause skin
irritations. Avoid any contact with
the fl uid. If you experience contact
with the fl uid, rinse with lots of wa-
ter. If the fl uid comes into contact
with your eyes, rinse immediately
1. Modes of function
The Activity Control fl oor nozzle with
dust sensor expands the scope of
functions of your cylinder vacuum
cleaner. The dust sensor in the fl oor
nozzle measures the dust concen-
tration in the vacuumed in air while
vacuuming. The coloured LED
displays show you the amount of dirt
vacuumed up from the fl oor:

The device works like a dust magnify-
ing glass. The intelligent dust sensor
recognises as sharp as a pin sharp
whether and where the fl oor has
already been cleaned. Activity Control
shows you your cleaning results.
4. Changing the parking hook
You can replace the parking hook on
the back side of the fl oor nozzle as
necessary (model-dependent). So you
can use the fl oor nozzle with dust sen-
sor with other Royal cylinder vacuum
cleaners (model-dependent).

Turn the fl oor nozzle with dust
sensor so that you can see the
underside.

Loosen and remove the screw (Fig.
3/2) on the parking hook (Fig. 3/1).

for 10 min. with water and fi nd a
doctor straightaway.
Take the batteries out of the ap-
pliance when they are dead or
when you are no longer using the
appliance. This will help avoid any
damage from battery leakage.
Do not use different battery types
or brands or batteries of differing
capacities.
Do not throw used batteries into
the domestic waste. Dispose
of them in an environmentally
friendly way.
2. Preparations
1.
Unpack the appliance and all ac-
cessory parts and check that the
contents are complete.
Warning:
Packaging material must not be used
to play with. There is a danger of suf-
focation.
2.
Open the battery compartment (Fig.
1/3) with the aid of a small coin.
3.
Insert the three type AAA 1.5 V
batteries (Fig. 1/4).
When doing so, pay attention to
the correct polarity (+ / -).
4.
Replace the battery compartment
cover and press down on it until it
audibly clicks.
NOTE:
If the red LED blink alternately, then
the batteries are dead. Remove
the dead batteries and insert three
new type AAA 1.5 V batteries as de-
scribed.
5.
Plug the lower end of the suction
tube of your cylinder vacuum
cleaner into the suction tube
connection piece (Fig. 1/5) of the
fl oor nozzle. The appliance is now
ready for operation.
3.
Remove the parking hook and
place the new parking hook so
that it fi ts exactly into the depres-
sion provided for it.
4.
Screw in the screw and tighten it
fi rmly.
