Make sure that you create a "normal" text fi le. It is best to use the simple text editor
in Windows ("Editor") and not a word processor (e.g. Word, OpenOffi ce or similar).
• Insert the memory card into the slot in the surveillance camera and turn it on.
• The surveillance camera reads the text fi le and sets its internal clock. The text fi le is then
deleted automatically, so the time is not set again when you turn it on the next time.
Reading the Memory Card
After connecting the surveillance camera, via the enclosed USB cable to a USB port on your
computer, the memory card slot is recognized as a USB stick or a card reader.
This means you do not need a separate card reader for the microSD memory card, instead you
can simply use the surveillance camera.
Conventional card readers, however, are usually faster at reading the data. To save
time with large memory cards, it may be worthwhile to use a "normal" card reader to
read the memory card, rather than the surveillance camera.
Use as a Webcam
The surveillance camera can be used as a webcam on a computer (minimum Windows XP or
later is required).
For this purpose, proceed as follows (observe sequence!):
• Insert the provided CD into the appropriate drive on your computer and start the installation
program on it. Follow the program's instructions.
• Disconnect the surveillance camera.
• Insert the memory card into the surveillance camera, if you have not done it yet.
• Keep the button (2) pressed and connect the surveillance camera to a USB port of your
computer using the provided USB cable.
• Now the computer recognises the new hardware and completes the driver installation of the
webcam.
• The surveillance camera now serves as a webcam at the PC; it can be used for videophoning
or similar purposes (appropriate software required).
• In order to turn off the webcam function again press the reset button, see next section.
Reset
The surveillance camera can be resetted using the small recessed reset button (7).
Use a the point of a toothpick to press the button carefully, do not use force!
Tips and Notes
• Before inserting or removing a memory card, fi rst turn off the surveillance camera. Otherwise,
there may be a loss of data.
There is also a risk of damage to the memory card's fi le system. In which case the memory
card needs to be formatted. This must be done in Windows because the surveillance camera
does not have a formatting function.
• If the surveillance camera is to be used as a webcam, make sure you select the correct
microphone for sound recording in the Windows audio properties.
• If the webcam function is to be activated the memory has to be inserted into the slot of the
surveillance camera. Otherwise the webcam function cannot be activated.
• If the internal rechargeable battery of the surveillance camera is low or empty the surveillance
camera cannot be turned on.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any rea-
son. There are no serviceable parts inside. The rechargeable battery is permanently installed
and cannot be replaced.
Carefully clean the surface of the surveillance camera. Only use a clean, soft and dry cloth
for cleaning.
Dust can be very removed easily with a fi ne, long-haired brush.
Do not use aggressive chemical cleaning agents as these may discolour of the case.
Disposal
Electronic products do not belong in the household waste!
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory regulations!
