4. How to change and insert batteries
You will find the battery compartment ander
a cover at the anderside of the remote con-
trol unit. Insert two "Mignon" type (AA) roand
batteries there.
If you detect that the working range of the
remote control decreases, you have to press
the keys for more time until they react or the
TV/DVD combined set has ceased to res-
pond at all to your pressing a key on the
remote control unit exchange the batteries
against new ones.
Take care of their correct polarity when inserting them. A wrong polarity
leads to a defect of the remote control unit.
Remove the batteries from their compartment if you will not use them for
a major period of time. There is a danger of battery leakage.
Do not leave batteries littered because children or pets might swallow
them down. In case of batteries being swallowed call for immediate
medical care.
Do not leave empty batteries in their compartment because even leak-
proof batteries might be subject to corrosion, which could release chemi-
cals which are harmful to your health or could damage the battery com-
partment.
Leaky or damaged batteries might cause cauterization when in contact
with the skin; therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
Never try to recharge batteries because they might explode.
Do not throw batteries into fire because they might explode.
Take care not to short-circuit the batteries because they might explode.
Avoid using different battery types or using batteries of different conditi-
ons (charged/semi-charged ones). Always exchange the complete set of
batteries.
Instructions for environmental protection:
The law obliges the final user to return all used batteries (provision
on used batteries). It is inadmissible to dispose them of in the house-
hold refuse.
