10. Basic functions

a) Switching on/off, GPS reception

Hold down the "Power/Light" button for 3 seconds to switch the GPS device on/off. After
switching on the device, it starts searching for GPS satellites immediately. In this respect, see
chapter 9. a).
No or weak reception
Reception sufficient for determination of position
Good reception
Very good/optimal reception
It can take several minutes until GPS satellites are found and the reception quality is displayed.

GPS satellite search takes longer if the GPS device is moved during that
search.
If no GPS signal can be recognised for 15 minutes, GPS reception is deactivated
to save battery power and the display shows a corresponding message.
To start searching for the GPS signal again, switch off the GPS device (hold
down the "Power/Light" button for 3 seconds) and switch it on again.
