13. Drivers and software

The minimum requirement is Windows XP/Vista.

a) Software installation

To install the software, insert the provided CD in the CD drive of your computer and run the file
"setup.exe" in the root directory of the CD. Follow the instructions on your screen.

New CD versions might have a different installation procedure.
b) USB driver installation
• Connect the USB plug of the USB adapter to a free USB-1.1/2.0 port on your computer (do
not connect the GPS device yet!).
• Windows recognises the new hardware and installs the required drivers from the provided
CD. Follow the instructions of the operating system. At the time of printing of these operating
instructions, the "driver" directory was the source directory to be selected when installing the
driver (not the contained subdirectories!).

c) Data transfer to PC

• If you have not already done so, install the software and the USB driver first (see chapter 13.
a) and b)).
• Switch off the GPS device and connect it to the USB adapter (slide it on from the bottom).
Now switch on the GPS device (hold down the "Power/Light" button for 3 seconds).
"Connect" in displayed when the connection to the PC has been established.
• Run the installed GPS software (installation described in chapter 13. a).
• The data saved in the GPS device can be transferred in 3 steps.
1. Click on "Connect" in the software to establish a connection to the GPS device.
2. Click on the "Browse" button and select a directory on your hard drive in which to save the
transferred data. Also specify a filename for the GPS data.
3. The data can now be transferred and saved on your computer's hard disk by clicking on
the "Download" button.
