Roller blind actuator RSL
Item no. 64 05 52
Intended use
The product enables a roller blind to be controlled by buttons and by a wireless device.
The transmitter can be any transmitter in the RSL wireless switching system.
The roller blind actuator may only be used on mains voltage (230 V/AC, 50 Hz). For information on the power
input required, see the section: "Technical Data".
Any other use than that described above may damage the product. Moreover, this may give rise to hazards
such as short-circuiting, fi re, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may be modifi ed or converted!
Always observe the safety instructions included in these operating instructions. Read and take note of the
operating instructions and keep them in a safe place.

Package Contents
• Roller blind actuator (incl. front cover)
• Operating Instructions
Explanation of the Symbols
This symbol indicates a health hazard, e.g. electric shock.
The exclamation mark indicates specifi c risks associated with handling, function and use.
The "Hand" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential damage!
Nor do we assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use
or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The warranty will be void in such cases!
Caution!
This product may only be installed by a qualifi ed technician (e.g., an electrician) who is
familiar with the relevant regulations (e.g., VDE, German electrical wiring regulations)!
Improper work, carried out on the mains voltage, endangers not only your own life but
also the life of others!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not install it yourself but
ask a qualifi ed technician.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not allowed for safety and
approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product!
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children! There is the risk of a
fatal electric shock!
• Do not use this product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although RSL System transmitters
only emit relatively weak radio signals, these may lead to the malfunctioning of life-support
systems. The same may also be the case in other areas.
• The product may only be operated on mains voltage (see chapter "Installation and Connec-
tion" and "Technical Data"). Never try to operate the product at another voltage as this will
cause its destruction.
• Only carry out the installation when all the mains cables are disconnected from the mains
voltage. Otherwise, there is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• The product may only be installed and used in dry indoor spaces, it must not get damp or wet.
Never touch the product with wet or damp hands! There is a risk of a life-threatening electric
shock!
• Only use the product when it is securely installed and steady. Install the product, for example,
in a suitable fl ush or wall mounted contact box.
• Do not use this product in rooms or under adverse environmental conditions where there are
combustible gases, vapours or dust or where they may be present! There is a risk of explo-
sion!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or heavy
mechanical stress.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect the product
immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation. Do not touch the roller blind actuator
or any device connected to it.
Disconnect the roller blind actuator from the mains, by switching off at the appropriate circuit
breaker or by pulling out the fuse. Furthermore, turn off the earth leakage circuit breaker to
disconnect all the poles of the mains supply. After this, arrange for an expert to check the
product.

Preparations for Installation
• Only one motor may be connected to the roller blind actuator.
• The roller blind actuator cannot detect the end position of the roller blind. Only connect a motor that can
switch itself off when the end positions at the top and bottom of the blind are reached.
• The blind actuator must only be installed and operated in a suitable fl ush or wall-mounted contactbox. It
may only be operated when it is securely mounted.
• The blind actuator must only be installed when the mains voltage is switched off. Turn off the mains supply,
by switching off at the appropriate circuit breaker or by pulling out the fuse. Secure it against unauthorised
reconnection, e.g., with a danger sign.
Furthermore, turn off the earth leakage circuit breaker to disconnect all the poles from the mains voltage.
• Check that the mains connection is current free with a suitable tester.
Installation and Connection

A Control LED light (hidden under the button)
B Cover
C "UP" button
D "DOWN" button
E Screw clamps
• First remove the two triangular shaped buttons (C and D). These are only clipped in place. Therefore, do
not use any force.
• Under one of the buttons you will fi nd the control LED light (A).
• Now remove the cover (B). This is clipped onto the edge in four places. To remove the cover you can lever
it off using, for example, a fl at screwdriver. Do not exert any force here either.
• Carry out the electrical connection across the four screw clamps (E); see the above diagram.
• Fix the blind actuator into place in the contact box either by using the two retaining clips or with screws.
• Position the cover (B) onto the blind actuator such that the four side clips snap into place.
• Finally, replace the two buttons (C and D) so that they click into place.
• It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage,
- the product does not work at all or works poorly (where there is fl ickering light, leaking
smoke or a smell of burning, audible crackling noises, or discolouration to the product or to
adjacent surfaces).
- the device has been stored under adverse conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around since it could become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's Liability
Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are to be observed!
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our technical
service or another specialist.
Please refer to the section "Safety Information"!
Refer to the section "Preparations for Installation".

Once assembly is complete, this should be on top, because the description that follows on how
to program the device refers to the corresponding button positions:"
If the electrical wires for the motor's direction control are reversed at this point, then the rotation
direction can later be changed during the programming process.
Our tip:
So that the LED control (A) can be seen better where there is little light, these buttons (C and D)
should only be put into position once programming has been completed.
