All operating elements and connections de -
scribed can be found on the fold-out page 3.
1 Control Elements
and Connections
1.1 Mixing amplifier PA-2510D /-2520D
1 Cover of the insertion compartment;
an insertion module from MONACOR can be
installed here, e. g. tuner, CD player, mes-
sage storage module
2 Volume controls for the input channels
CH 1 – 6
3 Bass controls and treble controls to adjust the
sound for the input channels CH 1 – 6
4 Buttons to switch the siren tones on and off;
when a siren is switched on, the LED above
the corresponding button will light up
⁓ repeated wailing (tone rising and falling)
— rising tone followed by continuous tone
5 Button CHIME to trigger the chime
6 Control MASTER to adjust the total volume
7 LED indicators
SIGNAL:
sum signal indicator
CLIP:
overload indicator
PROT:
lights up in case of an amplifier
failure (e. g. due to overload or
overheating) and lights up
briefly when the amplifier is
switched on
8 LED indicators
STAND-BY: standby mode
ON:
operating mode
The LED will flash when the
amplifier is remote-controlled
via the zone paging microphone
PA-2500RC or when a switch-
ing contact at the terminals E / M
MESSAGE CTRL (20) is closed
for an emergency announce-
ment.
9 Button POWER; to switch off the amplifier,
keep the button pressed for a few seconds
10 Reset pushbutton for the overload protection
of the switch-mode power supply (use a thin,
non-conductive object to press the pushbut-
ton)
11 Zone selection buttons
1 – 10: zones Z 1 – 10 (PA-2510D)
1 – 20: zones Z 1 – 20 (PA-2520D)
ALL: all zones (of the corresponding row of
buttons)
When the button is pressed again (for
2 seconds), the previous selection will
apply again.
12 PA-2510D only:
Buttons VOL
and VOL
to select the zone
volume
13 Plug-in screw terminals (removable) for the
100 V speakers of the zones Z 1 – 10 or
Z 1 – 20
Attention! The output Z 1 can be loaded with
a power of max. 250 W
, the other outputs
RMS
can be loaded with up to 50 W
total load of all zones may never exceed
250 W
.
RMS
14 Mains jack for connection to a mains socket
(230 V~ / 50 Hz) via the mains cable supplied
15 Support for the mains fuse
Always replace a blown fuse by one of the
same type!
16 Fuse for the 24 V emergency power supply
Always replace a blown fuse by one of the
same type!
17 Plug-in screw terminals LOW IMP for a low-
impedance speaker with a minimum imped-
ance of 4 Ω, regardless of the zone selection
Never use this output simultaneously with the
100 V outputs (13); the amplifier may be over-
loaded.
18 Screw terminals for emergency power supply
(24 V )
19 Plug-in screw terminals PAGING IN to con-
nect a signal source with line level output for
announcements of higher priority (
fig. 5, chapter 3)
20 Plug-in screw terminals to connect normally
open contacts for remote control of various
functions
E / M MESSAGE CTRL – The amplifier will
be switched on. For emergency announce-
ments, all zones will be selected; for the
model PA-2510D, the zone volume will be set
to −3 dB.
The LED ON (8) will start flashing. If a mes-
sage storage module (e. g. PA-1120-DMT) is
installed, a stored emergency announcement
can automatically be reproduced.
CHIME CTRL – trigger a chime
POWER REMOTE – switch the amplifier on
and off by remote control
21 Control PAGING to adjust the volume of a
signal source at the input terminals PAGING
IN (19)
22 Control CHIME/SIREN to adjust the volume
of the chime sounds and siren sounds
23 Connections REC 0 dB (RCA jacks) for a
recorder
L (left) and R (right) jacks are provided for
stereo recorders. Since the amplifier is mono-
phonic, the signals at the two jacks are iden-
tical.
24 Inputs LINE IN −10 dB (RCA jacks) for the
channels CH 5 and CH 6; L (left) and R (right)
jacks are provided for stereo signal sources.
Since the amplifier is monophonic, the stereo
signals are internally transformed into a mono
signal.
25 Input for microphone level and line level
(combined XLR / 6.3 mm jack), balanced; one
input for each of the input channels CH 1 – 4
26 Switch PHANTOM; one switch for each of the
input channels CH 1 – 4; when the switch is
engaged, a voltage of 15 V
powered microphones will be available at the
XLR contacts of the input jack (25)
Caution: To prevent loud switching noise, use the
switch only when the amplifier has been switched
off, the outputs have been muted or the control
MASTER (6) has been set to "0". In addition, no
microphone with unbalanced signal output may be
connected when phantom power has been acti-
vated; otherwise, the microphone may be damaged.
27 Control GAIN to match the input amplification
with the signal source (microphone level to
line level); one control for each of the chan-
each. The
RMS
nels CH 1 – 4
28 Cover plate, will be replaced by a connection
plate when an insertion module is installed
