Weighing in Two Ranges
The FUNCTION key (6) lets you switch back and forth (toggle) between two weight
units. The 2nd unit is identified by the display symbol "R1."

The "basic weight unit" is the unit in which your balance will weigh the moment
you turn it on. This unit is selected for the first range. You can select a different unit
for each of the two ranges by setting the appropriate menu codes.
