Inserting/replacing the remote control battery
Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the battery.
Remove the battery when the device will not be used for a while.
Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin. There-
fore, use suitable protective gloves.
Make sure that the battery is neither short-circuited nor thrown into a fi re. Do
not recharge batteries. There is a risk of explosion.
• If the infrared remote control (8) is delivered with a battery already inserted into it, you may
have to remove the insulating strip from the battery compartment. This insulating strip pre-
vents an early discharge of the battery during storage or transport.
• In order to insert or replace the battery, open the battery compartment on the back of the
remote control and pull out the battery holder.
• Insert a new button cell (for battery type, please see section „Technical Data") in the battery
holder observing the correct polarity. The correct polarity is indicated on the back of the remote
control.
• Slide the battery holder into the remote control again until it clicks into place.
• If the transmission range of the remote control decreases or the remote control no longer
functions, the battery must be exchanged.
Connecting the Power Adaptor
The mains socket, to which the laser is connected, must be easily accessible
so the device can be quickly separated from the mains voltage in the case of
a fault.
Do not let the mains cable come into contact with other cables.
Be careful when handling the mains cables and main connectors. Mains volt-
age can give severe electric shocks, which can be fatal.
Do not leave the cables trailing free; route them in an orderly and profes-
sional way to prevent accidents.
• Plug the enclosed power adaptor's low-voltage plug into the DC 5V (6) connecting socket
on the back of the device.
• Plug the power supply unit into a wall socket.

Operation

Manual operation
• You can select the various laser effects manually using the MANUAL (2) key . With each
keystroke a new laser effect is selected.
• With automatically controlled effects the function display LED (3) lights red, with music-con-
trolled effects it lights green.

Handling
• Never switch the laser effect device on and off at short intervals. This will considerably reduce
the working life of the device.
• The device is not suitable for continuous use. Pauses in operation increase the working life of
the product.
• Never switch on the device immediately after it has been taken from a cold into a warm envi-
ronment. The condensation that forms might damage your unit.
Allow the device to reach room temperature before switching it on. Wait until the condensation
has evaporated.
• To ensure suffi cient ventilation, do not cover the device. In addition, the air circulation must not
be obstructed by objects such as magazines, tablecloths, curtains or similar.

Maintenance

Before cleaning the laser, disconnect it from the power supply (disconnect
the power supply unit).
Make sure that the inside of the device does not get wet or damp.
The outside of the device should be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth or dry brush.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as these may damage the surface
of the housing.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in
the household waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
Remove any inserted battery from the remote control and dispose of it separately
from the product.
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
The end user is legally obliged (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and
rechargeable batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to
indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The symbols for the
relevant heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (marking can be
seen on the battery/rechargeable battery, e.g., underneath the refuse bin symbol
shown on the left).
You can dispose of your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at
your community's collection point or any place where batteries/rechargeable bat-
teries are sold!
You thus fulfi l your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the envi-
ronment.
