Operation (Basic Functions)
Disconnect the MP3 player from the computer, if it is still connected. A 3.5 mm stereo socket (1) for
earphones (or headphones) is located on the rear end of the MP3 player.
Protect the USB plug using the protective cover (7) provided.
The operating keys enable the following functions:

To call the setup menu during the playback of an audio file, keep the joy-
stick key depressed.
Select equalizer
Repeatedly press the „EQ" (5) key during playback (or when paused); in
the lower area of the display the current settings appear: „R" = „Rock", „J"
= „Jazz", „F" = „Full Bass", „P" = „Pop", „C" = „Classical", „N" = „Normal".
Key Lock
Slide the „HOLD" switch (3) in the direction of the arrow (see housing
label), to activate the key lock („LOCKED" is shown in the display)
A certain interval can be marked during playback, which can be played back time and again (so called
A-B-playback).
During playback, select the starting point by pressing briefly the joystick key, up in the display „A-" is
shown.
Select the end point by pressing the joystick key again, the display shows „A-B".
Now, the selected interval (from „A" to „B") is played time and again.
To return to the normal playback, you simply press the joystick key again briefly, the indication „A-B"
disappears.
Setup Menu
The menu is called by using the joystick (6) like a „normal" key (i.e. simply press the toggle key, do not
move it to the left/right).
Select the required settings by briefly moving the toggle key to the left or right, confirm the selection by
pressing on the toggle key again briefly.
The sequence of the individual functions shown in the display might be different from the
list/description of the functions below.
Function „Music" (playback of music files)
This is the normal playback function, e.g. for playing back MP3 files. The playback control is per-
formed as described in „Operation (Basic Functions).
Function „Record" (creating a microphone recording)
The MP3 player has an internal microphone e.g. for recording voices (dictation function). The
microphone is integrated in the housing, near to the earphones socket (by the key „
Directly after it is called, the function starts recording (the time at the top of the display runs). Stop
the recording by pressing the toggle key briefly. The recording is saved as WAV file and can be
played back with the MP3 player (function „Voice") or can be edited later on a PC.
Function „Voice" (playback of a microphone recording)
Here the recordings made by with the microphone can be played back. The control is the same as
for playing back normal MP3 files (see basic functions).
Function „Erase File" (deletes the audio file or microphone recordings)
Using this function selected audio files (e.g. MP3s) as well as microphone recordings can be
deleted.
After calling the function, you can decide between deletion of audio files („Delete music"), deletion
of microphone recordings („Delete Voice") and leaving the function („Exit"), by using the joystick
(move to the left/right). Confirm the selection by pressing the joystick again briefly.
By pressing the „
" key (4) the file is deleted; pressing the joystick cancels the deletion procedure.
Function „Setting" (various settings)
This submenu enables various basic settings to be made for the MP3 player:
„EQ Set": Select sound setting/equalizer („Rock", „Jazz", „Full Bass", „Pop", „Classical",
„Normal")
„Play Mode" (Playback mode): Select repeat function (e.g. random playback)
„Contrast": Sets the display contrast
„Backlight": Set a time, how long the backlight is active when a key is pressed (the longer this
period, the higher the power consumption)
„Power Set": Set a time after which the MP3 player switches off automatically, when it is not
playing and no key is pressed
„Record Set": Sets the microphone recording quality (only the encoder type of the compression
(„ENC") and the sample rate can be adjusted, the rest is preset)
„Language": Sets the language for the text messages in the display
„Exit": Quits the menu

Function „Folder" (select particular music files/folders)
Using the joystick music files or folders can be selected (the name of the music file or the folder is
shown on the display).
If a folder has been selected (folder icon is shown), briefly press the joystick to view the music files
in the folder.
To start the playback of the music file shown currently in the display, simply press key „
Function „About" (shows the firmware version and memory)
The MP3 player shows the version number of the firmware, the total memory and the memory still
"
available.
Function „Exit" (exit menu)
The menu is quit, and you return to the operating mode you were in before calling up the menu.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product does not require maintenance. Clean the MP3 player with a dry, clean and soft cloth. Do
not press too hard on the display, this may cause scratch marks or lead to a failure of the display.
Disposal
a) In general
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
b) Disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable
batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to
indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols for dangerous
heavy metal constituents are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (the labelling is
visible on the battery/rechargeable battery e.g. under the refuse bin symbol shown
on the left).
You can dispose of your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at your
community's collection point or any place where batteries/rechargeable batteries are
sold!
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
Tips and Instructions
• There are many programs that can generate MP3 or WMA files. For this reason, it cannot be guaran-
teed that all these files can be played back.
• When the MP3 player is connected to a computer using a USB port, all the operating functions of the
MP3 player are switched off, playback is not possible. On the computer, the MP3 player functions in
the same way as a conventional USB stick.
• When the headset output is to be connected with a line input (e.g. car radio), initially set the volume
of the MP3 player very low. After this connection may take place. Subsequently, you can set the
required volume on the MP3 player or your audio device.
• If the MP3 player does not react when the keys are pressed, check the „HOLD" switch for locking the
keys.
