8. Maintenance and Care

Before cleaning the pump or performing maintenance, the following safety notes must be observed:
• When opening covers or removing parts you may expose live parts. Therefore, disconnect the pump from all voltage
sources before performing maintenance work or repairs. Capacitors (motor start capacitor) inside the device may
still carry voltage even though they have been disconnected from all voltage sources.
• Never replace yourself damaged mains connection lines of float switch lines. Repairs or maintenance work may
only be carried out by qualified personnel who are familiar with the hazards involved and the relevant regulations.
• The pump requires no maintenance apart from cleaning every now and then the surface of the casing and the
strainer. Control every now and then the connecting line, the plug, the float switch and its cord for cracks and make
sure that the insulation is intact.
• The guarantee will expire in case of opening the motor socket or in the case of high-handed modifications to the
inside of the pump.
• If you do not use the pump for a longer period of time or before storing it, rinse the pump thoroughly with water in
order to drain it and store it completely dry. If there is danger of frost, the pump must be completely drained. After a
longer service life, check by quickly turning the pump on/off if the rotor turns properly.
• Clean the product only with a slightly moistened cloth or a brush. Never use aggressive cleansing agents or
chemical solvents since this might damage the product. Do not use any cleaning agents which contain carbon or
petrol, alcohol or the like to clean the product. These might corrode the surface of the casing or the mechanics of the
pump. The fumes are furthermore a health hazard and are explosive. Moreover, you should not use sharp-edged
tools, screwdrivers or metal brushes or similar for cleaning.
