Absolutely avoid the dry running of the pump. (Operating the pump without water in the casing of the
pump).
In case of an electrical power shortage, disconnect the pump from the mains by unplugging the mains
plug.

8. Initial operation

a) Automatic operation
Connect the safety power plug of the pump with a safety plug. As soon as the float switch floats (lies horizontally), i.e.
when correctly fixed, from a water depth of approximately 7 cm, the pump starts to run. If the water level falls below
approx. 5 to 6 cm (float switch "tilts" forward) the pump switches off automatically.
When disconnecting the pump from the mains never pull on the power line itself, always pull the dry power
plug which must be completely dry.
If not in use, never hang the pump on the power line as this might damage or destroy it.
In case the pump pumped fluids, which leave residue, it should be thoroughly cleaned after use with
clean water.
Sand, mud or suspended sediment in the pumped water can affect its delivery rate.
Make sure that no particles bigger than approximately 35 mm get sucked as this can block the rotor
turbine.
b) Manual operation
The pump can also be operated manually, i.e. the float switch is "laid" (via the retainer clamp at the side of the relay) or
it is kept up. Set the pump in the water then connect the power plug to the mains - the power plug must be completely
dry. The pump includes a device which exhausts the air from the pump automatically so that within a relatively short
time the pump can run in full delivery rate.
The minimum water depth can fall short when the pump is operated manually. An automatic cutoff does
not occur. Therefore, disconnect the pump from the mains as soon as the water depth falls below 5 cm.
Otherwise, the pump runs dry too long and can be damaged.

9. Maintenance and Cleaning

• The dirt water pump has no parts that require maintenance by you. Therefore, never open or disassemble
it.Maintenance or repair and opening of the dirt water pump in this context must only be performed by a specialist
or specialist workshop. Only use genuine spare parts.
• Before cleaning, disconnect the dirt water pump from the mains voltage; pull the mains plug from the mains socket.
• Use suitable protective clothing if required to prevent danger to health when handling the contaminated conveyed
liquid or dirt water pump.
• To clean the outside of the dirt water pump, a dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient. If required, flush the outside
with clear, clean water.
• Any contamination of intake openings or the suction basket may be removed under running water (e.g. garden
hose). The pump inside may be flushed with running water as well by removing the L-shaped hose adapter first.
• Dry the dirt water pump and the mains cable before storing it.
