Preparation

This section describes the preparations required before commis-
sioning the device.

Rack-Mounting the IP DECT Server

The COMfortel WS-650 IP is designed to be mounted in a 19"
rack.
Requirements
– Tools and materials:
The support bracket and screws included in the scope of

delivery
Screwdriver

– Connections close to the mounting location:
Mains power socket with protective earth

Network socket
i
Warning: Liquid that penetrates the casing can cause
life-threatening electric shocks or can damage or destroy
the device.
 Only operate the device in closed, dry rooms.
 When cleaning the casing, make sure that no liquid enters the
casing.
Caution: Overheating can damage or even destroy the
device.
 Note the values given for ambient temperature and humidity
in the technical data.
 Do not expose the device to direct sunlight.
 Ensure that heat produced by the device can be adequately
vented into the environment. Do not install the system in a
cabinet without adequate air circulation.
Caution: Mechanical stress and electro-magnetic fields
can result in the damage or destruction of the device or
impairment of its functions.
 Avoid mechanical loads (e.g. vibrations).
 Protect the device from dirt, excessive dust, condensation,
caustic liquids, and steam.
Use 4 screws to attach the support brackets to the casing.
